Webinar Overview: Gcuwa Dam, situated on the Gcuwa River in the Eastern Cape province, has faced significant challenges over the years, with more than 70% of its original gross capacity lost due to siltation. The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) has assessed various solutions to address this issue, and the decision has been made to raise the full supply level (FSL) by 1.5 meters to increase the dam's storage capacity. In addition to this, several other crucial modifications are planned. This webinar will delve into the engineering and design aspects, including model studies and the anticipated increase in storage capacity.
