These and many more questions were part of our discussion yesterday afternoon. Here are our top 3 takeaways in case you missed the session: 1. 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬: The real challenge isn't just about having enough budget but rather about allocating it effectively to meet the evolving needs of employees. Getting buy-in for HR initiatives it difficult, but don't give up. HR TEAMS DESERVE BUDGET TOO. Here are 5 ways I've been able to get buy-in for my needs: 1. Tie your request into meeting business goals. Pay attention to what matters to the c-suite and finance and see how your tool aligns (even tangentially). 2. Work with other team leaders to see the value of your product for their needs as well. 3. If it's software, talk with your IT team first to be really informed on the technical side and bring that insight to the table. 4. Use employee polling data to show the need. 5. Know your budget cycles. Make sure you have plenty of time to propose and build out next steps well before the budget is tied down.
