Congratulations to Magallanes Renovables , Nova Innovation , Inyanga Marine Energy Group and the tidal industry at large.
At Tadek Ocean Engineering supporting mooring, cable and structural design for tidal energy projects has always been a core passion, since our first project in 2011, delivering installation engineering to the first commercial scale subsea tidal generator, the HS1000.
One of our over-riding aims has always been towards developing sustainable installation solutions for a viable, economically robust tidal industry, where these power stations have O&M solutions that properly use and invest in a growing and sustainable local supply chain. Such an approach requires some engineering creativity and engagement with local companies to develop bespoke industry solutions that are regionally feasible and relevant, as opposed to a simple and easy reliance on spot market O&G vessels; that have both high and volatile costs, damaging economic viability, preventing further investment and holding back pioneering projects that should have already succeeded.
Government support is great but, like pocket money, it can still be wasted on sugary sweets.
