Last year, Ashish Srivastava and I made some much-needed updates to legacy keyboard shortcuts in Word for Windows and Mac, including improved access to Zoom with Ctrl +/-. However, we're always listening to feedback, and we heard from several users that the Optional Hyphen and Nonbreaking Hyphen shortcuts were important to their workflows. Rather than inserting these hyphens via the Symbols dialog box, we’ve added back new shortcuts to give users quicker access with Ctrl Alt - (optional hyphen) and Shift Alt - (nonbreaking hyphen).
