Fun weekend post -
I just finished reading David McCullough's "1776" an account of one of the toughest years in the American fight for independence and in particular George Washington's leadership in this period.
For most of us used to writing glowing bios and perfect profile descriptions on LinkedIn, how's the following assessment by David for someone who led one of the most successful campaigns in history -
"He was not a brilliant strategist or tactician, not a gifted orator, not an intellectual. At several crucial moments he had shown marked indecisiveness. He had made serious mistakes in judgment. But experience had been his great teacher from boyhood, and in this his greatest test, he learned steadily from experience. Above all, Washington never forgot what was at stake and he never gave up."
😉 Highly recommend this book, even if you are not an avid history reader (I am not ..)
