💛 The most important factor for success in therapy . . . Is it the modality The client’s willingness to commit to the process External factors for the client They are all important but none more so than the therapeutic alliance, that bond between client and therapist. The bond between helper and helpee as they work together towards a common goal, a bond marked by non-judgmental acceptance and empathy This does not simply mean a nice or friendly relationship. It’s characterised by digging in and working on hard things together, but always punctuated by empathy, acceptance and a lack of blame. #therapy #therapists #connection

All therapies work for someone, not all therapies work for everyone. The key to success is the therapeutic alliance!

I agree! I am extremely fortunate to have a therapeutic alliance with my therapist, which has been instrumental in my trauma recovery process over that past few years. So important 🙏

The foundation of everything else, is the alliance!

I agree. The issue of Willingness vs Willfulness very important. I found it rare that a person I was helping wasn't willing. However at times important to review with people. Good response when addressed I foung.
