https://lnkd.in/dc4hu3pU #new_certificate The course aims to initiate participants into the principles of learning, teaching, assessment and feedback in a university context as well as to model ways of how teaching can be improved. It explores how to actively engage learners and discusses teaching and learning activities typical of tutorials and/or lab-based teaching, with practical teaching strategies, such as structuring and managing the tutorial, designing high impact tutorial activities and techniques for actively engaging a diverse range of students.

"As part of this holistic approach, the TFUAP will zero in on both content and pedagogy. Obviously, the content we cover is important; our goal must remain to provide undergraduates with the world-class education they expect. But how we teach is of fundamental importance, as well." https://lnkd.in/ebKhRVc4

** What learning strategies do pre-service teacher students use when dealing with pedagogical science theories?** The analysis of strategy use (relative frequency) shows that performance in an application test (use of theory to explain and solve pedagogical problems) has no significant influence on the frequency of strategy use. In particular, it can be assumed that students with a high performance in the application test use depth-oriented strategies (organization and elaboration strategies) more frequently than students with a low performance in the application test. In a further analysis step, the organizational and elaboration strategies are examined in more detail and it is investigated whether the type of strategies differs depending on the performance in the application test. The aim of this study is to develop a training course for students in which they learn how to read educational science texts with the aim of applying them. #research #learning #highereducation

I continue to share brief lessons from the modules in Contemporary Approaches to University Teaching Marina Harvey PFHEA, IFNTF - CAULLT - Module 21 (of 24) is Scholarly Teaching and Scholarship of Teaching from Olga Kozar and Marie B. #tuesdaythoughts #Goodmorninglinkedlnworld #Teaching by #lecturemethod In the lecture method, the teacher presents the learning concepts to the students. Teachers learn different concepts beforehand and explain the concepts in a classroom. The teacher will be actively involved in the lecture method and the students will be passively listening to the lectures. In order to make the lectures more engaging and captivating, teachers use different strategies. These strategies enhance the outcomes of the lecture method and improve the learning retention rate of the students. Lecture method of teaching is one of the oldest methods of teaching in which the teacher focuses on theory of syllabus. The lecture method of teaching has been used for a long time and it is still used during preparation of various competitive exams and practical exams because in the end the lecture method helps in memorizing things much faster and in an efficient way. Definition of lecture method may differ from person to person but the meaning of it remains same in the end. #inference- #Inductivetechnique & taking #references in order to make understand the particular concept of a student is the modern inclusive strategies but it's the oldest fashion of teachers'- students' academic relationship. last but not the least we all know OLD is GOLD.

As an experienced teacher of online education you don't often get to walk in the shoes of your students. Then along comes a pandemic and suddenly you're helping your own kids transition online and learning lots that can be applied to your own practice. So glad to see this project that we started in 2021 finally come to fruition. Thanks for coming along the reflective journey with me Katrina Gersbach, Kylie Gumbleton and Greg Auhl.
