“Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) helps clients work on reframing their negative core beliefs that stem from the patterns of abuse that they have been exposed to.” We sat down with Journey Clinical KAP Provider, Juanita Viera, LCAT, to discuss the transformative impacts that KAP can have on patients with treatment-resistant depression or C-PTSD. Juanita is based in New York and is the founder of The Art of Integration, a private practice that offers holistic trauma recovery through using creative arts therapies with KAP. Thank you, Juanita, for the work that you do! To learn more about whether KAP treatment would be a good fit for you, visit: https://lnkd.in/e3T4cpbG

Why listening to YOUR body is the key to helping your clients. In this group, we learn bottom-up skills from the bottom-up. Meaning that instead of talking about theory and application, we will be practicing theory and application. Our professional stuck points are a reflection of our personal stuck points. Be prepared to gain insight into your own nervous system needs while also gaining the tools to better support the nervous system of others. On July 5th, we will focus on how to bring the body into the psychotherapy process. Participants will be able to: 1) Identify 2 evidence based reasons to use body based methods in psychotherapy 2) Define interoception 3) Identify how interoception is important for both therapists and clients 4) Identify ways to ensure that bringing the body based treatment modalities into session is safe and trauma informed. Join us in August when we will have an overview of action methods and celebrate our practice turning 5! As a gift, we want you to bring a friend for absolutely FREE! https://wix.to/YONPYGY

ONE WEEK LEFT! REGISTRATION CLOSES TOMORROW! Group is more impactful than individual therapy. This is because with all the various dyads in a group setting, we have full access to our entire role repertoire. Our role repertoire is comprised of all the roles we play in life: child, caregiver, protector, peacekeeper, etc. With these roles available to us, the group facilitators can bring us to greater insight than in the isolated space of individual work. If you are stable in your trauma recovery journey and you're ready for new depths, join us Friday, July 19th from 9:00-4:00 pm. We will use psychodrama, Somatic Experiencing, and Internal Family Systems to take your trauma recovery journey to a level you didn't even know existed. What do our clients say about this group? “I've had some HUGE shifts in behavior with the work we're doing. I am not getting triggered all over the place...I have stopped people-pleasing so much...I'm able to say no and not feel guilty, and ask for what I need and not feel the need to explain and over-explain." "I feel closer to myself and others. The work has catapulted me toward more willingness of self-discovery." I am very excited to be co-presenting a workshop alongside Dr. Katherine Ferdenzi at the 10th conference of the International Society of Interpersonal Psychotherapy in Newcastle on March 13th 2024, where we’ll explore 'Clinical Perspectives on using IPT versus Exposure Therapies when working with Perinatal Trauma'. I hope that our workshop sparks engaging discussions and ignites a curiosity among our audience, prompting further exploration and research in this vital area. The recent application of IPT in the treatment of trauma signifies a significant advancement. Perinatal traumas can be viewed as life events, the interpersonal nature of perinatal trauma suggest IPT's suitability as a treatment modality in this domain. Could IPT offer a gentler approach for women navigating perinatal trauma, bypassing the need to confront their most distressing memories? #IPT #ISIPTCON #PTSD #BIRTHTRAUMA #BABYLOSS #TFCBT #EMDR https://lnkd.in/e8ia7Ng7

The past cannot be undone, but addressing and changing the habits of organizing internal experience through Sensorimotor Psychotherapy can resolve the cumulative effects of repeated trauma. Layers of Trauma: A Recorded Session Analysis With Ava Rose, LCSW and Pat Ogden, PhD May 10, 2024 at 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Pacific Time $115 USD: 2-hours of learning with the opportunity to earn 2 CEs Learn More and Enroll >> https://lnkd.in/gE4SMhpm In this presentation of a recorded Zoom therapy session, Pat is the therapist, and Ava Rose, certified in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) and method actor, portrays one of her own clients, “Ellen,” who has a history of recent and past sexual abuse, as well as intergenerational trauma. This session demonstrates working to resolve traumatic arousal with the SP intervention of “sensorimotor sequencing” and using body oriented techniques to elicit active defenses. Since the client froze during previous abuse and tends to freeze currently when faced with challenges, experiencing her capacity to defend is especially empowering. #sensorimotorpsychotherapy #traumahealing
