Employee health and well-being have long been recognized as being linked to organizational success metrics like retention, engagement,and productivity, but the COVID-19 pandemic put employee welfare and safety front and center as never before. IBI published a study this week analyzing survey data from 305 US-based HR professionals alongside qualitative insights to uncover priorities and challenges related to products and programs that support employee health and well-being. Highlights: ✔51% of employers cited employee satisfaction as their organization's most important goal. ✔51% of employers said that mental health and emotional support was their main priority for resource allocation. ✔Employees 55+ years were more interested in preventative health screening benefits while those between 30-45 years were more interested in work-life balance and flexibility benefits. ✔Recommendations from employers include prioritizing cost-effective mental health benefits, invest in training management on well-being programs, and tie benefit programs directly to measurable productivity goals.
