What do windows, doors, floors and insulation have in common? All are different building elements and part of the construction industry. 🏗 Despite a drop in new construction permits and finished buildings, it is clear: Building elements have become indispensable to everyday life. Modern wood floors, for example, increase the comfort in our homes. 🏡 Furthermore, there is also a need for resilient building elements which can weather the effects of global warming. They improve the energy efficiency of buildings and are an essential part of the Green Deal. The construction and renovation sector therefore has to continuously evolve if we are to meet the ambitious climate goals. Because modern and sustainable construction is not possible without prefabricated building elements. 🌱 These building elements have one more thing in common. For green buildings to be more sustainable and energy efficient, thermal insulation is essential. In order to prevent heat transfer and maintain pleasant internal temperatures while lowering the need for excessive heating or cooling, green buildings use insulating materials and design techniques. Important features of thermal insulation in green construction consist of: 1. Materials for Insulation 2. Design Points to Remember 3. Chilled Roofs 4. Airtight Building 5. Mass of Thermal Energy Green buildings reduce greenhouse gas emissions, consume less energy, and provide a more comfortable and sustainable living space by implementing these techniques. #thermalinsulation #greenbuilding #technology

Can your product be submersed in water for 72 hours? Resilience to Climate Change was the main requirement for the fitout in ANZ branches. Ged Finch Finch shares at #transform2024 how XFrame , a modular interior fit out, is not only resilient for floods, but is also a circular system using local materials. And it's very fast to install. Architects and planners need to revisit natural and traditional cooling methods if we are to reduce global warming. In cities such as London, Ankara or New York, where more energy can be used to cool rather than than heat buildings each year. Architects and investors need to review thie current practice when designing new buildings and also consder how existing buildings can ve reconfigured to take account of air flow , shade, insulation rather than relying on air conditioning. Government legislation and incentives as well as technical education and culture change in property will be needed before this change in approach can be realised . But this issue cannot be ignored and change must start now.

Thermal Mass refers to the ability of materials to absorb, store, and release heat. Materials with high thermal mass, like concrete, brick, or stone, can help regulate indoor temperatures by absorbing heat during the day and releasing it when the temperature drops, typically at night. This process can significantly reduce the need for artificial heating and cooling, making the home more energy-efficient. For example, in a well-designed energy-efficient home, sunlight might be allowed to heat up a concrete floor during the day. That heat is then gradually released in the evening, helping to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature without relying on heaters or air conditioners. #EcoSureSolutions #basix #basixcertificate #building #buildingdesign #buildingplans #buildings #carbonfootprint #climate #climatechange #consulting #development #drafting #ecoliving #energy #energyefficient #energyefficienthomes #house #NatHERS #nathersassessment #ncc #newbuild #newhome #orientation #passivedesign #passivehouse #residential #sustainability #sustainableliving #thermalperformance

Winter’s around the corner and heating bills are rising fast. This solution significantly reduces heat loss from windows 👇 Did you know? Up to 25% of a building’s heat is lost through windows in the UK, contributing to increased energy consumption and higher heating costs. Installing blinds, especially cassette blinds, is a quick way to cut this heat loss. Benefits of Maglette cassette blinds: ✅ Provide year-round thermal management ✅ Block out cold and keep heat inside ✅ Maintain a sleek, modern aesthetic ✅ Optimise light and noise control For even better thermal performance, consider adding curtains. Together, they create a tighter seal, minimising heat loss and eliminating draughts. 🔗 Read the full article for more insights on heat gain and loss in buildings! 🇬🇧 https://lnkd.in/eqHKxD4y #EnergyEfficient #SmartBuildings #Sustainability #ConstructionProjects #BuildingInnovations #InteriorDesign #SolarShading #Blinds
