We're proud to share a major milestone in our journey towards sustainability at Jägermeister! We've made a significant advancement in our label production process by incorporating an innovative, recyclable and thinner gold foil carrier material developed by Leonhard Kurz Stiftung & Co. KG. This cutting-edge material has been reduced in thickness by 50%, from 12my to just 6my. Despite this change, the quality and appearance of our labels, including the iconic Hubertus stag and poem on the bottle, remain premium and untouched. We are proud to be one of the first companies to use this thinner backing film. We owe this pioneering role largely to our label supplier Goetz + Müller, which makes it possible to process this product innovation using new types of machinery. The impact? Well previously we used approximately 1.3 million square metres of PET film per year, equating to 22 tonnes. With the switch to the thinner film, we’ll be cutting this in half while also saving 10.8 tonnes of new PET material annually through recycling. At the exhibition, we introduced three new products: reinforced leak-proof #SaladBoxes, innovative five-compartment #trays, and #dumpling #trays. Our themes—#innovation, #EnvironmentalProtection, #sustainability, and #personalization — drew significant interest. We found that exhibitors and customers are keen on #custom molds for #branding. Sometimes you just get excited and don’t read the instructions, but it works! Full disclosure, I hope it’s obvious this wasn’t a paid ad. I connected with the Flexi-Hex team earlier this year in an effort to find some solutions for a customer of mine. We were searching for a sustainable void fill to use on glass products that had no secondary packaging, pre-induction to the Sparck Technologies CVP Impack or CVP Everest. The Flexi-Hex checked all the boxes for us: •Easy to use •Small footprint •Sustainable/Recyclable •Positive customer experience •Works. There are many different skus, use cases, and applications from Flexi-Hex, but I just took one of the samples and grabbed something fragile close by, and the performance spoke for itself. I see different wine and beer places being able to ship direct to consumer without having to ship full cases or use a ton of void fill. But, the possibilities are endless.
