🐾 Celebrate International Assistance Dog Week! 🐾 This Sunday, we begin International Assistance Dog Week, honoring the incredible assistance dogs who transform lives with their dedication and intelligence. These remarkable dogs are trained to support individuals with disabilities, enhancing their independence and quality of life. Did you know that assistance dogs can be trained for various roles, including guide dogs for the visually impaired, hearing dogs for the deaf, mobility assistance dogs, and medical alert dogs? These dogs not only provide practical help but also offer emotional support and companionship. How can you celebrate? Consider supporting organizations that train and place assistance dogs by donating or volunteering. If you do decide to donate it’s a good idea to do a little homework to make sure that the organization you are giving to is a legitimate charity (Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Canine Companions for Independence (CCI), Guide Dogs for the Blind, The Seeing Eye, Paws With A Cause, Assistance Dogs International) are some trusted organizations. #InternationalAssistanceDogWeek #AssistanceDogs #ServiceDogs #GuideDogs #HearingDogs #MedicalAlertDogs #VirginiaDogTrainer #DogTrainer #JoyfulDog #TimetoTrain

Happy National Rescue Dog Day! Project Blue Collar was started as a way to identify rescue dogs in public. A way to show your rescue pride and a way to show that rescue dogs are not damaged goods. Rescues and Shelters are all busting at the seams these days. Two steps forward results in ten steps back. It is going to take all of us to help stop euthanasia for space. What a terrible solution. Please do your part. There are many ways you can help. Foster, network, donate, adopt. And show off your rescued pup!

Helping someone else always helps me mentally during a job search, and in this case it’s saving another dog. With so much free time on my hands, I can do a lot more of what I really enjoy doing. My day is free to pursue my passion for helping animals, and today's a perfect example. I'm on my way to pick up a senior dog who sadly lost his owner recently. The family didn't feel equipped to care for him, and he was facing being surrendered to the shelter. Shelters, especially in our island community, often struggle to find homes for older dogs. The time limit for adoption can be short, and the thought of this sweet pup facing euthanasia was heartbreaking. That's where our amazing volunteer network steps in. They rescued him last night, and today he'll get a thorough check-up at our partner vet, Aloha Affordable. Then, he'll come home with us to meet our other foster furry friends! 🐶 We know losing a loved one is incredibly difficult. But surrendering a pet, especially an older dog, to a shelter can be a very stressful and potentially life-threatening situation for them. Shelters often have limited space and resources for senior animals. 🐕 How Can You Help Buddy and Others Like Him? This is where you come in! We're a non-profit organization that relies on donations and grants to help abandoned animals in our community. Many pet owners here have to move due to island life, and sometimes they can't bring their furry companions. Sadly, these animals often end up left behind. We'd love for you to meet Buddy this evening through some pictures I'll post. If you'd like to support our mission of rescuing dogs in Hawaii, we've set up a GoFundMe page. Any contribution, big or small, can make a world of difference. 🐩 Together, we can give these deserving dogs a second chance at a loving home. #Adoptdontshop

PSA for the day: Meet "Luna"...short for lunatic 😂 who is my newest rescue addition to our family! As a few of you are aware, I'm a big dog rescue person and sadly, shelters are overflowing. Again. Everywhere. Please consider the following for your office and events...1) Establish a regular "escape" day where these shelter dogs can come to your office for walks and play. 2)Partner with local shelters where your events are held to bring dogs over for a break for your attendees. 3) Create vouchers where employees/customers can take shelter dogs out for Pup Cups (many venues have coffee places:) 4) Develop a reward system where your employees and/or customers can earn points towards gifts for helping shelter pets. 5) Donations, donations, donations (shelters need everything right now). This is a super way to DO GOOD and help your mental health along with the pups! Thanks for listening and have a super weekend 🐶

Join us in our mission to provide housing and care for homeless individuals and their beloved pets. With your support, we can reach our goal of renting a location to give displaced individuals a safe place for their furry companions while they work towards stability. Additionally, we aim to foster cats and dogs that are currently in overcrowded shelters, giving them a chance at finding their forever homes. It’s heartbreaking to think about families having to surrender their pets due to lack of space in shelters or living on the streets with their beloved companions. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that no pet is left behind. By donating to Beartha, you are directly impacting the lives of both the paw parent and the pet, taking a step in the right direction towards a more compassionate society. Did you know that between 5% to 10% of homeless people in the US own pets? With your help, we can provide essential resources and support to these individuals and their furry friends. Every donation counts, whether it’s through monetary contributions, volunteering, fostering a pet, or spreading the word about our cause. Let’s work together to make a positive impact in our community and beyond. Remember, self-care is important too! Take care of yourself so you can better care for others. 🚨Please help if you have a Facebook account. Reporting is quick and easy. Comment below if you are unsure of how to do it & I will happily show you how! ♥️
***Assistance requested!*** It will take you 10 seconds. We need as many people as possible to report a fake Facebook page that has stolen our name. Our organization is marking 30 years of being a 501c3 non-profit serving animals in need. We have always had this name. This a phony "group" appears to be selling puppies. In addition to them putting our name on their page, they have their address listed as the same address as the Michigan Humane Society. Thank you so much. The offending page is located at: https://lnkd.in/geSUz-sX
