When we talk about diversity and inclusion, we often forget a basic fact: inclusion is more than just meeting individual needs. It's about making sure everyone's voice is heard and appreciated. True inclusion recognizes that simply accommodating can sometimes lead to unintentional underestimation. It's about consistently upholding standards for all, acknowledging people's existing skills, and working together towards common goals. When I returned to work after becoming a mother, it wasn't just about picking up where I left off. It was a reaffirmation of my professional value. Becoming a new mother didn't lessen my ability to contribute, but rather, it broadened the range of ideas and new skills I could bring to Talent Acquisition. The trust my colleagues showed me reminded me of my purpose and showed that real inclusion is about believing in each other's abilities and valuing everyone's contributions to our shared success. I hope my sharing widens your perspective on what inclusion looks like, so that we continue to make inclusion true and accessible to everyone.
