ProfNeel Update: It takes an anecdote to become an example that lingers on and the hospitality industry is the best place to share them. Storytelling is a powerful communicative methodology that teachers at IHMs only use when teaching the History of the Hotel Industry. Each wine has more than a story to it, just like any beverage has a history with facts to arouse the interest of the student. But these wine stories are hand-me-downs from the occidental world. Likewise there is a need to use storytelling for other chapters too. Teaching Introduction to Beverages with storytelling is but one memorable example shared here. https://lnkd.in/gjbgCqeN Do listen, read up, comment, like, follow, share, subscribe and most importantly enjoy! Embrace the Twist. Enjoy the Turn. #hotelmanagement #hospitality #food&beverage #ted #profneel #tedex #tea #coffee #beverage #him

#FunFactTuesday Did you know about the Scottish tradition known as "First Footing"? As the clock strikes midnight, a tradition unfolds—one that involves the first person to step into a home after the commencement of the new year. This individual not only conveys warm wishes but also presents a curated array of symbolic treats. This tradition embodies a deep connection to cultural significance, with three distinguished elements: Shortbread: A manifestation of the desire for a year filled with sweetness and joy, shortbread stands as a symbol of the warm embrace of the upcoming months. Whisky: Beyond being a mere beverage, the offering of whisky holds a deeper meaning—infusing the environment with warmth and a sense of conviviality for the months ahead. Black Bun: Not merely a fruitcake, the renowned black bun is a dense, rich creation infused with an assortment of dried fruits and spices. This symbolises the collective wish for prosperity and abundance in the approaching year. This tradition is not just a gesture; it is a culturally rich way to usher in the new year with a touch of solemnity and a delightful celebration of tradition.

Here’s a quick summary of how to pack wine safely in a suitcase: 1. Choose the right bottle: Sturdier glass bottles, especially those with thicker necks, are less likely to break. 2. Pack securely: Use wine skins, padded bags, or wrap bottles in clothing to cushion them. 3. Position strategically: Place wine bottles in the middle of the suitcase, surrounded by soft items like clothes for extra protection.
Traveling with wine is easier than you think—if you know how to prepare. 😉 Learn more here 🔗 bit.ly/3TPeMLY

We just hit the full moon of the Metal Horse and we're on the wane now. Watch the laziness this month: metal horse at its worst can influence sloth and other bad habits. We also just hit the Summer Soltice which means the days get shorter from here through the harvest season (That wild and enchanting time of year where everyone wants to connect with their spiritual side.) To all my winery friends: this is event season here in wine country and people are once again booking psychic soirees at their wineries and I do need a little advance notice if you're wanting to push your event over the top! Wineries are also wanting other unique possibilities for their events and that's what I have always offered. Did you know that if you're trained in how the mind works, you can actually turn up an individuals abilities to taste certain aspects of a wine? This is so mind mindblowing it seems like magic. And yet we all have the ability to have this wild and natural experience. IF you know how the mind really works! I learned this incredible skill as a byproduct of all my years doing hypnosis (As well as my Reality Architect training; thanks to my incredible mentor who was ranked 3rd in the world for mind sciences.). If you want to know more about how this could enhance your event beyond the realms of luxury, let's chat.

😍First time on the print pages of IWSC - Club Oenologique and Lala Richards asked me to explore the phenomenon of spirits using (and adapting) Sherry's solera system. Fitting, as this issue was guest edited by Spanish food visionary Ferran Adria from el Bulli foundation. Its pages are as such filled with stories that pay homage to Adria's approach to flavour and ingredients.🧑🍳 When it comes to using the word 'solera' in spirits - from rum to whisky - it isn't always a like-for-like application: 'It conjures romanticism and tradition; its pyramids represent the skill and science that make this time-honoured process work so successfully. Yet how it positively affects spirits is a looming question that isn't always easy to answer. #solera #Spain #Sherry #spiritswriting
