For cool-season grasses, consider using specific formulas like 20-8-8 or 24-0-12 in early fall, and 13-25-12 in late October or early November. 🌾 **How to apply**: Utilize a mechanical spreader for open areas such as lawns. To achieve a more even application, consider splitting the process into two passes in different directions. ☔ **When to water**: For best results, fertilize just before rainfall to aid in the fertilizer's penetration into the soil. Today is for fertilizer. How do I know how much to spread? Most farmers today practice Precision Application, where the type, ratios, and application rate are controlled by settings on the wagon like I show here. These settings are determined by soil analysis (rhymes with #oilanalysis). You might remember months ago when I took core samples from my field and compared it to the coring action of the #GreaseThief and a prescribed method like ASTM International D7718 Standard for Inservice grease sampling. In the same way that farmers target precise delivery of the correct amount of fertilizer, asset owners can deliver the precise lubrication required by Optimized Greasing. Use #ultrasound and #greaseanalysis to get on board with Optimized Greasing as part of your Precision Maintenance approach to reduce waste, labor hours, and carbon footprint.
