I am pleased to announce that our TICA-ACAD guide "Insulation and Cladding of External Sheet Metal Ductwork" is now available. Without an adequate means of protection, externally located ductwork insulation will be open to the elements – not just weathering, but also damage from humans and wildlife. By getting the design and installation correct first time we can help to minimise disruptions and reduce the embodied carbon impact by increasing the lifespan of the systems in place.
The document can be accessed here: https://lnkd.in/esUrrHqe
Thank you to everyone who contributed their valuable time to making this document happen. And thanks to The Association of Ductwork Contractors and Allied Services (ADCAS) and BESA Group for your continued support.
For 7 years, I was in pursuit of a BSC Civil Engineering degree..
For me, it was a transformative process.
Here's why:
I got my first job in campus - Lost it.
Got another job - quit.
Started a company -Left it.
Built my brand - been earning from it ever since.
In the process, I built experience in a whole other industry, worked with professionals at all levels, and strengthened connections with interesting individuals.
My biggest take away;
1. It isn't just about education; it's about learning
Focusing on what you want to do and investing effort
when given the chance… give it your best shot.
2. Talk about your value
The moment you understand your value
People treat you differently.
I no longer work for my previous employer... I work with
3. When things aren't working out.
Learn to rest - Not Quit
Everyone has setbacks..how to react against challenges determines who you are.
4. Mentors count.
When taking a path not taken,
You need all the support you can get.
A big thank you to my previous employers, family, clients, and Kenyatta University for playing a part in who I am today.
🎉I can proudly say, on top of my brand, I'm also an ENGINEER!
G`day All
Thank you everyone for the very positive comments in regard to our little company EarthCruiser, it has been really terrific thank you.
To clear some things up -
The company has not closed, only the manufacturing arm has come to a end in beautiful Bend. The design testing and innovation has a bright future.
How we delivered that message was dreadful how it was managed was worse. I take full responsibility for hiring the wrong consultants to help me make these massive changes to what we do.
Put simply the town we live in now is not the town we moved to ten years ago.
Despite the tireless efforts by exceptional people, who have put their heart and soul into affordable housing and support for working families (child care) it is become all but impossible for small privately owned innovative manufacturing companies to be viable. Most of our local suppliers have either increased their prices past consumer expectations, closed or reduced their operations considerably as we also must.
Unless one has been through this process I am at a loss as how to explain it - other than it really does suck.
There is a auction coming up of tools, plant and equipment we no longer need, there are no current model EarthCruiser manufactured parts or tools to create those parts on offer.
A number of former EarthCruiser crew has taken over, with our encouragement, service of customer vehicles. They are great people and know what they are doing. Some have had their enterprises for a number of years. We are very proud of them for their success and worked with them many times in the past and will again in the future.
Our manufacturing method was always to do our own prototyping - engineering - drafting - testing and then have those parts made by outside vendors.
Our engineers created the production and work flow instructions, QC documentation for the crew to follow and then we "assembled" our own manufactured parts to build the finished products.
This model or way of doing things makes it easier start and to transplant to more manufacturing friendly environments than if it was all done in house.
We have become very good at communicating all aspects of the production requirements - composites - metal - electrical - soft trim etc.
Our primary aim now is move / license / sell EarthCruiser developed products and IP to get more of what we created in the hands of more people to enjoy.
All options are on the table if this is of interest to anyone you know, please send them my way..
I really miss working with the EarthCruiser Crew, they are some of the best people I have ever met.
All the very best.

Good evening to everyone, on behalf of TAOC Technologies s.r.o. (first manufacturer of floor scrubber dryers in Czechia) I would like to thank you for everything in 2024, and all the best in 2025.
We have made big steps in 2024 and bigger steps we need to do also in 2025. The way to succeed is never easy, there are no shortcuts and it will be that hard also for us. But we will remain humble, we will respect the others and we stay humans no matter what. Our legacy is not only to make cleaning easier and affordable for everyone, but also to show people that being good and kind still counts, that our values are stronger then before, that to help to the others is such a beautiful thing that mostly do not cost you money, that the power of succes is in the choices that we are living in such a beautiful place and that everything is depending only on our own choices. So be wise and choose the best way for you in 2025. Tomas Prchal, CEO

Thank you for the birthday wishes and kind messages. I deeply appreciate them. Your words touched my heart.
A few days before my birthday, I found myself questioning many things, especially my path in advocacy. It was a difficult time, but your words provided me with much-needed strength. I also drew inspiration from the supportive messages of colleagues and friends.
Knowing that others might be experiencing similar doubts, I decided to transform these encouraging words into an anthem for construction workers going through tough times.
What began as personal reflection on my has grown into something more meaningful – they reminder of our shared journey in this challenging field.
So, to every construction worker facing difficult times:
- When your muscles ache from long hours
- When the weather tests your resolve
- When you question if it's all worth it
- When you feel unseen despite building the world around us
Remember: You are not alone.
Every structure you help create tells a story of persistence.
Every beam you place speaks of strength.
Every project you complete proves your resilience.
We build more than buildings – we build futures, communities, and hope.
Your work matters. Your dedication matters. YOU matter.
I hope you have a great listen.
With solidarity and hope,
Angela

It was tough deciding to drop makino and caterpillar as customers this year.
It was a tough decision and they were good customers other than last minute schedule changes and lower rates for bulk service.
Since doing this. We have doubled our monthly revenue. Our service calls have spiked dramatically. We have made 43 new customers this year alone.
Sometimes. You have to take a risk. If it doesn’t pan out you have to be prepared to recover from it. However, at 2-1 the rewards it was a no brainer.
Several of you here on linked in have given us referrals. We treat referrals with reverence and we do the best most affordable job for the end users we can provide.
Thank you all for helping us achieve this already record setting year.
We won’t stop at machine tool service though. We are aiming the sights a bit higher than that.
I can’t tell you the plan, but if they didn’t know who we were the past 5 years. I can assure you. The biggest names in machine tools will know us within the next 10.
That's a wrap! Thank you to everyone who came to learn more about Oshen last Friday at the IET in London😊. Here's the most popular questions we were asked, and our answers:
---
Q: How do we know what sea state the micro-vessels can last in?
A: We've tested in up to 25kt constant winds, 40kt gusts, and sea states just beyond the 'small craft warning'⛵ that indicates our 25ft chase boat should no longer be at sea (On the rougher end of 'Moderate' for people familiar with the shipping forecast).
When we have a larger fleet later this year we look forward to taking bigger risks with individual micro-vessels and sending them on more challenging missions!
---
Q: Have we considered magnetic couplers?
A: Yes, especially as it could preserve the mast mechanism if the sail experienced shock loads in harsh conditions (e.g from a breaking wave 🌊). However, our main design ethos is simplicity, and we're going with a simpler design at present that maintains high spring stiffness🪢in the mast while ensuring it's not brittle.
---
Q: What other applications could the micro-vessels have?
A: In the talk, we covered our most immediate work on Biodiversity monitoring with a focus on protected species observations with DEFRA🐬(more details on this later this month!). This is a big R&D focus for us at the moment, so expect a lot of information about using our micro-vessels for cetacean monitoring in coming months.
However, there are other applications of our micro-vessel technology: MetOcean data for more accurate forecasts⛈️, visual observations for Maritime Domain Awareness, low-power oceanographic sensors for scientific research 🧪... if you'd to know more, get in touch!
