MXGP Announces Launch of Electric World Championship in 2026 ⚡🌍 The inaugural press conference of the 2024 season was jointly held by Infront Moto Racing CEO David Luongo, FIM/CMS Director Antonio Alia Portela, and David Eli, organizer of Patagonia-Argentina YPF INFINIA MXGP. Mr. Luongo made an electrifying announcement, stating, "With the significant progress in bicycle electrification over the past months and years, now is the perfect time to establish a new support category dedicated entirely to electric bikes. As the premier off-road motorcycle platform globally, MXGP should embrace this new technology." He continued, "Therefore, we're excited to announce that in 2026, we aim to collaborate with FIM and manufacturers to launch a specialized Electric World Championship, held concurrently with MXGP. Our goal is to host five to six races in Europe, allowing us two years to define bike regulations in partnership with FIM and manufacturers. This initiative will complement the MXGP weekend package and provide a professional platform for manufacturers to refine their product portfolios." Antonio Alia Portela, FIM/CMS Director, added, "I extend a warm welcome to everyone in Argentina and express my gratitude to all who made this event possible. We're working tirelessly to establish a new level for electric bikes, alongside MXGP, demonstrating the interest of new manufacturers. This is Gertjan, founder of GRAVAA. Gertjan is minding his own business because he’s on a mission. A mission to introduce adaptable tyre pressure. A mission to help people ride bikes better; more efficient, in better comfort, safer. GRAVAA's product KAPS, earned global interest in 2023. When three Jumbo-Visma riders rode KAPS in Paris-Roubaix, the world toughest one day road race. The race had its obstacles, but the team minded it's own business. It went on to win all three Grand Tours of 2023! Today is April 9, two days after Paris-Roubaix 2024. A race without KAPS, but a future with KAPS. Mainstream media questioned the absence of KAPS. Global Cycling Network (Warner Bros. Discovery Sports), Outside, Cyclingnews.com, Eurosport, Bicycling Magazine, VRT guessed what happened. Non of them was right, shortly they’ll understand whats going on. Like Jumbo-Visma in 2023, Gertjan is minding his own business. GRAVAA is in full swing to achieve it's most significant milestone to date: opening an Eindhoven / in-house based assembly factory. Supported by previous and new investors that factory enables GRAVAA to scale the production of KAPS. Enabling GRAVAA to help wheel and bike manufacturers around the world improve their already great product with KAPS as an OEM product. Oh and Team Visma l Lease a Bike?
