https://lnkd.in/dUVDDnhv High quality conversation! Massive respect to both parties trying to discuss the issue, without getting irritated or getting personal. There are many things we can learn about software development in this video but there’s a lesson hiding in plain sight about how to have a conversation about things that you have a difference of opinion about. Anyway, I’d highly recommend watching this video if you’re intereseted in learning things about good software development.

The Art and Science of Life Long Learning.. My journey from a budding engineer to a seasoned tech professional has taught me that technology isn't just about code and circuits, it's about crafting experiences that resonate. My engineering background sparked a passion for building, but grad school expanded my horizons, emphasizing the power of diverse knowledge and interconnected ideas. Leadership roles honed my collaboration skills and the art of cultivating high-performing teams. Yet, setbacks reminded me of the importance of self-reflection in both personal and professional growth. Now, at my new venture, I'm excited to fuse past lessons with the unique challenges and opportunities of the SaaS world. I'm committed to lifelong learning and introspection, using each experience as a stepping stone towards making a real impact in this ever-evolving space.

Product Manager for edtech MIS/SIS/SRS, learner and staff platforms, mobile app, parent comms: ebs, Maytas, and Engage at Tribal Group
This is such a good detailed response to the latest product management controversy. So many product teams rely on corporate memory and individual competence instead of good, transparent process, and the attrition, redundancies, and market shocks since covid should have taught us how vulnerable a position that is.
🌶 My response to recent statements about the role of Product Operations 🚨 This week the Product Ops community were both enraged and united like never before after a stream of opinions (stated as facts), from influential professionals (some peddling their latest book, others looking to join the stage), came to light. 🙄 By today, I have had over 50 individuals contact me for my opinion, vent their frustrations, discuss their fears or otherwise add their voices to the mix. 😖 I've now penned my full response to the events this week's events: https://lnkd.in/gW9s66fv Thanks to those who added their credited comments, their non-credited additions and inspiration, and hope there is some catharsis in time for the weekend, as I am sure there is more to come next week!

One of Jobber’s core values is “be supportive”, it’s a value that I align with 100% This week, the role of Product Operations has been under fire by people regarded as industry leaders. Making bold, all-encompassing statements to purposefully discredit a field of work is certainly not supportive. Tearing people down to build yourself up might be the oldest trick in the book. It’s transparent and I expect more from people who claim to be leading the tech industry. Graham Reed's response to this week’s statements is a must-read. It’s more than ok if your company doesn’t have a need for Product Operations, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t valuable to others. Get curious – ask questions, seek answers, don’t make up opinions and disguise them as facts.
