Arabic, as an official language of 22 countries, has its own special day - and that's today! 🙌🙌🙌 On Monday, 18th December we are celebrating the *UN Arabic Language Day*. Arabic is considered one of the most complicated languages in the world. With 422 million speakers worldwide, fast-growing development pace, and 30 distinct dialects, it is classified in the top 10 in terms of difficulty. There are many words, which do not have a direct translation into English or other European languages - and that makes this language unique. As an example, there are over 24 different words for “Love”! What makes it more interesting, but at the same time more complex, Arabic is Written Entirely in Script, and from right to left. December 18 was chosen as the date for the Arabic language as it is "the day in 1973 when the General Assembly approved Arabic as an official UN language". The Arabic language stands as a cornerstone of humanity's cultural tapestry, serving as the mother tongue for over 420 million people across a vast expanse of geographical and ethnic landscapes. In commemoration of the day when the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted Arabic as the sixth official language of the Organization, World Arabic Language Day is celebrated annually on December 18th. In its diverse forms, from standard to vibrant dialects, Arabic language has enriched human civilization for centuries, fostering exquisite aesthetics in architecture, poetry, philosophy, music, and calligraphy. It gives access to numerous identities and beliefs, and its long continuous history reveals the richness of its links with other languages. Arabic served as a catalyst for knowledge, promoting the transmission of Greek, Roman, Indian, and Islamic sciences and philosophies to Renaissance Europe. And it enhanced a cross-cultural dialogue along the bustling trade routes that spanned from China to Spain. Today, the Arabic language continues to play a critical role in spreading news, knowledge, and thoughts across the globe. If you look at the Arabic language as a language, it is a deep ocean in itself🍀 Because Arabic is the only language in which changing one letter changes the meaning of the whole word This is the main reason why the Arabic language is called the queen of all languages and this feature is not found in any other language.
