Can you remember when the last major breakthrough in the way that aircraft are serviced and managed on the ground happened? Neither can we. It's high time the aviation industry got its own 'moment'. #aviation #synapticaviation #airtravel #artificialintelligence #airlines #airports

Wonderful opportunity to share with the industry what existing technologies can deliver today when working together… more predictable flight departures, arrivals, and a smoother sequence of events in between. With more and more people traveling, more aircraft in the skies, and busier airports, the status quo will not be sustainable for too long.
Thank you, Metron Aviation for organising the Enhanced ATM Capability Through System-to-System Integration panel. It was an honour to moderate the panel, and a big thank you to the speakers - Brett Fujisaki, Metron Aviation, Chris Devlin, Aireon LLC; Juan Gomez CEO Synaptic , Synaptic; Fredrik Lindblom SaabGroup and Adam Stark, Sita Group for the billiant and engaging presenations.

It is expected that 2024 will be a tough year for airlines top and bottom-line results. What are the top 3 challenges airlines will be facing in the 1H 2024? Fuel volatility, high interest rates, lower pax yields, unit cost acceleration, seat capacity, airline inability to pass on rising costs to passengers, personal debt increment negatively impacting disposable income and a potential (mild or not so mild) demand recalibration to name a few. However, airlines can push forward a number of strategies to protect and optimize margins including lower-risk capacity growth by focusing on seat gauge, key market focus, return to normal stage length and restoration of aircraft utilization and core network among others. On the asset and human capital productivity side, increasing aircraft utilization, negotiating higher personnel productivity versus dollar cost, improving turn times and gate utilization are important. Besides, block hour execution performance becomes key. In terms of operational optimization, gate turn, ground and air traffic flow inefficiencies continue costing airlines and airport billions of dollars each year. Last year, 1.7M flight or 20% of those operated by us airlines were delayed. As of the end of 1H 2023, 22% were already delayed. Furthermore, pursuing beyond travel vertical growth and revenue diversification opportunities from ongoing evolution of loyalty programs and brand assets that can contribute billions of dollars in liquidity. Moreover, diversification through premium and non-ticket items especially where premium seat growth has outpaced main cabin products. Moreover, enhanced fare product solutions by providing customers with more flexibility, choices, and rewards among others. Thank you for your comments and vote.
