At Klarrio, we believe that data contracts are a valuable instrument for managing data at scale in a structured and reliable manner.
➡️ Data contracts formalize data schema definitions (including versioning), data ownership, and data quality rules in a standard, open, and extensible machine-readable format. They help create transparency, ownership, and trust in your data ecosystem.
That’s why we were honored to be invited to participate in The Linux Foundation’s Bitol project, which is focused on creating an open standard for data management.
It was a pleasure to contribute to the next major version of the Open Data Contract Standard (ODCS), which was released this week.
ODCS Version 3 adds support for non-tabular data, such as event streaming and object storage, improves data quality definitions, and adds a dedicated support section. These changes aim to streamline the data contract process, making it more adaptable, scalable, and easier to use in various contexts.
