Public Service Announcement: Thanksgiving: A Time for Reflection and Gratitude As we gather around our tables this Thanksgiving, let’s take a moment to reflect on the deeper history of this holiday. It’s a time to honor the resilience and contributions of Indigenous peoples and to acknowledge the complexity of our shared history. Thanksgiving is also an opportunity to extend gratitude not just in words, but in action. Many in our communities face challenges—let’s be mindful of those less fortunate. Whether it’s sharing a meal, donating to a local shelter, or simply showing kindness, we can embody the true spirit of Thanksgiving by lifting others up. Let’s celebrate with hearts full of gratitude, compassion, and a commitment to make a difference. 🌾 #Thanksgiving #Gratitude #CommunityCare #ReflectAndAct

The holiday season is a time when we tend to be more considerate of others. While spending time alone can be enjoyable, it is even more rewarding to spend time together. May this festive season bring a sense of wholeness. 🎄 Spreading Holiday Cheer Through Giving 🎄 Each year, instead of sending Christmas cards to our members and partners, we choose to give back to the community. This year, we’re proud to support The Salvation Army by donating 5 Essential Christmas Hampers to help families in need enjoy a brighter holiday season. The holidays are a time for kindness, generosity, and togetherness. By contributing to initiatives like The Salvation Army’s Christmas Wishes Appeal, we can all play a part in creating meaningful moments for those who need it most. If you’re looking for a way to make a difference this season, consider donating. Whether it’s a hamper, a gift, or a monetary contribution, every bit helps bring joy to those facing tough times. 👉🏻 Learn more or donate here: https://hubs.ly/Q02-5Nnv0 Let’s make this season about giving hope and sharing love. Shameless promotion of two organisations I feel passionate about, Providence Row and Madlug™ It is quickly moving towards Christmas and you want to undertake something socially positive? What about a Team Building programme at Providence Row work together for a few hours preparing hot meals for the homeless. I guarantee when you finish you will feel a sense of accomplishment. Secondly, does your company wish to support an organisation which provides dignity to children in care, providing a proper bag in which to transport their belongings? Seek out Madlug™ and harry your Marketing Team to equip staff with a good quality backpack rather than something by a large sports company. There you go, two suggestions for your team to do something positive with real social impact. #Charity #Homelessness #TeamBuilding Alternatively, you could just go to a bar with your work colleagues and buy each other drinks: you decide?

As we approach Giving Tuesday (12/3) I’ve been reflecting on how gratitude is so much more than a holiday activity—it’s a mindset we need to practice every day. For me, giving thanks starts with appreciating the small, everyday moments: • A warm cup of tea in the morning (I don't drink coffee, sorry) • A kind word from a coworker. • A moment of laughter with a loved one (when you get the giggles, it's the best!) And we can celebrate the larger blessings: • The roof over our heads. • The opportunity to pursue our dreams. • The people who show up for us in ways big and small. But gratitude doesn’t stop there—it’s a call to action. I think giving thanks means finding ways to give back as well. It’s about paying forward the kindness and support I receive, and helping others experience moments of joy, hope, and stability. It takes you out of your own head and it just feels good. So what can you do? • Volunteer your time at local shelters, food banks, or community centers. • Donate resources to organizations that align with your values. • Mentor or support someone who might benefit from your skills or experience. Here are some organizations that are making a difference, and I encourage you to support them this Giving Tuesday (or any day!): • Arizona PBS: fosters lifelong learning through quality programming, in-depth news coverage and critical educational outreach services. They will match dollar for dollar up to $20,000 this Tuesday! • Arizona Humane Society: they save the most vulnerable animals and enrich the lives of pets and people. The M3F Fest, will DOUBLE donations up to $15,000 until this coming Tuesday. • Project Roots: a community garden, volunteer or make a donation. They are dedicated to educating communities in need by by promoting a healthier, more sustainable way of urban living. • And if you are looking for a specific cause close to your heart, go to the link below to check out a list of local organizations! Let’s make gratitude a daily habit. What are you thankful for today, and how will you show it to others? #Gratitude #Thanksgiving #GivingBack #Volunteer #Donate #GivingTuesday #Arizona https://lnkd.in/g99Bgab5

Giving is so much more than a monetary donation. Giving of time and talents can often be more valuable than money. Volunteering your time, sharing your knowledge, donating goods, offering a listening ear, or simply being there for someone in need can have a tremendous impact on others. Let’s celebrate the many forms of giving that help build stronger, more compassionate communities, and more cohesive teams. How do you give back? Share your experiences and inspire others to find their unique ways to contribute. #GivingBack #Volunteerism #CommunitySupport #KindnessMatters #ActsOfKindness #MakeADifference #SupportCommunity #GiveBack #SpreadLove #CommunityService #ServeOthers #BeTheChange #SupportLocal #RandomActsOfKindness

This is #GivingSeason, a time that reminds us of the power of generosity and the impact we can have on our communities. Joanie and I have always tried to do our part in giving back. Years ago, we started hosting an annual holiday party, a gathering meant to celebrate the season with signature homemade dishes and great conversations. But as enjoyable as it was, we felt something was missing…it lacked deeper meaning. The following year, we made a change. Instead of just celebrating, we chose to incorporate giving. 🩵 Ever since, we partnered with a local charity, learned about their mission, and shared their stories. Each year, our guests have shown incredible generosity—bringing donations, volunteering their time, or contributing financially. Ironically enough, the most memorable part of this annual celebration for all of our guests, is how much more meaningful the evening becomes when they’re part of something bigger. It’s a powerful reminder that most of us WANT to give back. And sometimes, we just need AN OPPORTUNITY TO DO IT. So, today, I want to encourage everyone to take even a small step toward making the world a better place. Whether it’s big, small, financial, time, or simple kindness—the impact comes from giving with an open heart. How are you making a difference? I’d love to hear your stories of giving back. Giving doesn't have to end with #GivingTuesday! There are many ways to give and any support you offer makes a difference any time of year. Let's keep on giving! 🫶 Give your time! Volunteering with an organization can be a big help whether it's for an afternoon, a day, or a long-term project. 🫶 Share your support! When your favorite organization posts about their programs, fundraisers, and announcements, help spread the word by sharing with your circles. 🫶 Donate items! Gently used extra toys, extra clothing, extra food, and even extra household items like kitchenware and handy tools can be used by someone else. What other ideas do you have to "give?" #southdakotagives #forsouthdakota #giving #donating #volunteering #getcreative #nonprofit #givingseason #endofyear #keepongiving *Image is of a person holding a clipboard over a box of donated fresh food. An illustrated icon of a hand holding a heart is in the center with the words "keep on giving" below it.
