10 tips for a great Christmas with a fussy eater We’re all looking forward to Christmas, aren’t we? Or are we? Often Christmas with a fussy eater can be stressful. Especially if you’re celebrating with friends and relatives where even well-meaning family can inadvertently add enormous pressure onto you, and your children. As much as you want to enjoy the holiday, worry about food often clouds even the sunniest of destinations. I have spoken to parents who plan the food for trips away like a military campaign, they are so worried that acceptable menu items may be few and far between. Experience has shown them that all nuggets are not created equal! However, there are some great ways to support your child that avoid some of the flash points that can dampen your Christmas cheer. For older people who are feeling lonely or isolated, every day can be hard, but we know Christmas can be a particularly difficult time. While many of us are looking forward to celebrating with family and friends, many older people will be spending the festive season completely alone. Age UK's latest research has revealed that 1.4 million older people will be eating Christmas dinner alone this year. Please consider reaching out to older people in your lives and communities who may be feeling more isolated at this time of year - small gestures like asking someone round for a cup of tea, sending a card, or making a phone call can make a huge difference. Please also spread the word about Age UK's services - we're here every day, including Christmas day, for older people: ☎️ Age UK's Silver Line Helpline is open 24 hours a day for a friendly chat: 0800 4 70 80 90 ☎️ Age UK's Advice Line provides information and advice on a wide range of topics from care to benefits: 0800 169 69 65 (Open every day 8am-7pm) We’ve also launched our 'Together We're Not Alone' Christmas campaign to ensure no one has to face loneliness this festive season: https://lnkd.in/e8aCAe7p. Together, we can all help to change the lives of older people who are feeling lonely.

The countdown to Christmas is on! Over the next few weeks, I will share some tips for a Better Organised festive season. This week is mostly about planning. Some food delivery slots are already booked up, so I recommend setting aside some time to go through your diary! 📆 Diary Organisation - Diarise/book tickets for outings i.e. markets, pantos, parties, visits to Santa, ice rinks, carnivals, school fairs, nativities - Book any services to be done at home i.e. tradesmen, carpet cleaners, deep cleaning 🏡 At Home - Draw up a gift list and budget. Remember to include gifts for teachers/colleagues/Secret Santa, as well as any prizes for raffles or tombolas. Either keep a written list or a spreadsheet and update it regularly as you order/shop/take delivery of gifts - Do a stocktake of Christmas wrap and gifts - update your shopping list (don't forget Sellotape!) 👩💻Online - Sign up to a cashback site (you can use it when you're shopping online this festive season and then use it throughout next year as a savings scheme for Crimbo '25) - Start looking at gifts online - perhaps wait until Black Friday/Cyber Monday before ordering though, in case of unmissable deals on the items you would be buying anyway 🎄Out & About - When doing the weekly shop, pop in a few festive candles, tealights and matches - Buy Christmas cards and stamps For more of these festive tips, straight to your inbox, please sign up for my newsletter at www.betterorganised.uk

😀 Fantastic FriYAY 😃 🔥Does ever feel like you have too many irons in the fire? 🔥I know it sure does for me and often that means I need to stop and take a look at all the irons in the fire and make a list of what's top priority and then prioritize after that. 🔥Sometimes you may feel lost or like you are drowning in the fire but I promise you aren't you just need to stop and take a step back and look at what needs done and prioritize. 🔥When you're prioritizing the irons in the fire, see what things you can have someone else do to help lesson the irons in the fire that you need to take care of. 🔥I really liked this quote. 🔥"Step into the fire of self-discovery. This fire will not burn you, it will only burn what you are not." WoodenUrecover.com 🔥 🔥I felt that sometimes we need to step back from the irons in the fire so we can step into the fire of self-discovery. 🔥When you have to many irons in the fire what do you do to make it easier? #selfdiscovery #irons #fire #prioritize #burn #helpyou #fightfire #water

🇺🇸 Honoring Memorial Day: Remembering Our Heroes & Staying Safe on the Road 🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, we at RoadSafe Traffic Systems honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. As we gather with loved ones to remember and celebrate, let’s also prioritize safety on our roads. Did you know? Memorial Day is one of the busiest travel weekends of the year, with an estimated 42 million Americans hitting the road. According to the National Safety Council, there are typically over 37,000 accidents during the Memorial Day weekend. In 2022, nearly 400 fatalities occurred over the holiday weekend due to traffic accidents. RoadSafe Tips for a Safe Holiday Weekend: 1. Plan Ahead: Ensure your vehicle is in good condition and plan your route to avoid heavy traffic. 2. Buckle Up: Always wear your seatbelt and ensure all passengers do the same. 3. Stay Sober: Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Arrange for a designated driver if needed. 4. Stay Alert: Avoid distractions such as texting or using your phone while driving. 5. Follow Speed Limits: Adhere to speed limits and be mindful of road conditions. Fun Fact: Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day, a tradition that began after the Civil War to honor fallen soldiers by decorating their graves with flowers. This Memorial Day, let’s remember and honor our heroes by ensuring our travels are safe. Have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend! 🚗💙❤️ #MemorialDay #RoadSafeTrafficSystems #TravelSafe #HonorOurHeroes #SafetyFirst
