Would you like a judo league in the UK? A competitive league of judo clubs? It’s easy to achieve, but would take 3-5 years … Want to know how? Step 1 - Remove centralisation of athletes (allowing them to train where they want) this would keep more athletes in judo for longer and increase a competitive spirit between clubs. Step 2 - Teach clubs how to grow and maintain their membership (we simply don’t have enough people doing judo in the UK to make it work). There would be other things you would need to do to actually make the league popular (and an event people wanted to see) … But there will NEVER be a judo league without doing Step 1 and 2! #judo #BritishJudo

Pick a technique; remembering in Judo we are, 90% of the time, attacking an opponent on all fours or flat on their front- choice of technique should always reflect this. Drill the life out of it, continuously attempt it in randori (sparring), begin to work out and find solutions to all methods of defence the opponent summons. Repeat the process. Here, in this clip, there is transition between: 1. Ju-ji roll with same side arm in 2. Ju-ji from guard 3. Ju-ji roll with opposite arm in 4. Ju-ji hold down 5. Our director actively participates in international IBSA competitions to support judo for the blind, known as para-judo, a Paralympic sports discipline. Nusa Lampe, a 6th DAN judo master and member of the IJF Education & Coaching Commission, plays a key role in organizing judo tournaments for IBSA. 🟣 What's IBSA? IBSA stands for the International Blind Sports Federation, which oversees para sports like football, goalball, and judo.
