Resource Candidate was hired. Back to back interviews were lined up. I interviewed many candidates. But couldn't find the appropriate one. Then a girl came with her resume. She seemed confident. I asked many questions and she answered all of them very patiently. How did you prepare for the interview? to which she replied " I focused on learning practical skills, worked on my skills and also did mock interviews with my peers. It helped me gain confidence. " I was quite impressed with the technique. When I looked at her resume, to my surprise it was very basic. It seemed so basic but her performance and presence of mind was amazing. She got some real skills. And she was selected. From this one thing I learnt, hard work, marks and skills do not go at par. If you have practical knowledge and you have worked on your skills, you can face any interview. So if you are a candidate with less expertise, then don't worry with the knowledge of practical skills you can also perform well at the interview. And for all the HRs out there, All of us also learn something or the other from the candidates. In giving opportunity to a less skilled people but ready to grow with the company and open to learn, then there’s no harm. Everyone deserves a chance. I have recently been doing so research in preparation to add some new talent to the Ballistica resource pool and went down a rabbit hole of monumental proportions while looking at job and role adverts for similar positions that meet with my goals. It seems in an effort to try make roles seem more exciting everyone is trying to be creative with their wording! Please stop. If you are looking for a competent social media specialist to provide direction and support in growing your channels and increase engagement with newly identified customer bases do not put .... Digital Communications Alchemist - Getting into the mind of future customers. We want you to digest our very being and transform the way we connect to our audience by living, breathing and transcending our brand and its values, to inspire transformative change in the way we undertake our communications. Instead, help potential talent understand what you need in clear and concise terms...
