I have been running TTRPGs as a hobby for an over a year now. Previously a niche hobby, TTRPGs, especially the classic Dungeons & Dragons, has been gaining new popularity for years now, growing into a thriving sub-culture of entertainment, especially with the rise of relatively high-budget companies like #Dropout or #CriticalRole, the later even having a series on Amazon Prime. Not to even speak of the thriving third-party markets around #dnd5e in particular. I wonder how far this genre of entertainment, now so intimate, can grow in the future? Will Actual Plays be broadcast in National Television (assuming it exists) or Theater, the latter of which has already happened in the case of Critical Role, or will TTRPGs, while growing, still remain a niche nerdy hobby? It will remain awesome either way!
