Reducing the environmental impact of air travel is key to our sustainability efforts as a society but decarbonising an industry as complex as aviation is a very challenging task. I’m very proud of Capgemini’s work with Heathrow Airport to support its ambition to cut ‘in the air' carbon emissions by 15%, and ‘on the ground' emissions by 45% by 2030. Technology plays a key role in Heathrow’s sustainability strategy. The company uses AI tools and data insights to help optimise flight paths, fuel efficiency, improve energy management in airport buildings and reduce waste. Heathrow’s CIO, Sharon Prior, and Capgemini’s VP of Travel and Transportation, Bill Twibill, discuss Heathrow's plans in this great piece in Computing: https://shorturl.at/npAY5 #Heathrow #Decarbonisation #AI
