Why Women's Rights Are Under Threat in America In recent years, we've witnessed a troubling rollback of progress in women's rights across America. From threats to reproductive healthcare to the persistent gender wage gap, the struggle for equality is far from over. Policies that restrict access to essential services and undermine autonomy over our own bodies are a stark reminder that the fight for women's rights is ongoing. It's crucial that we stay informed, raise our voices, and advocate for policies that protect and advance the rights of women everywhere. Join the conversation, educate yourself, and take action—because every step forward counts. #WomensRights #Equality #Advocacy #StayInformed #TakeAction

Today on #internationalwomensday, a holiday celebrated annually on March 8 as a focal point in the women's rights movement, it's important to shine the light on issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women. It's also an opportunity to focus on the everyday things women are challenged with, like personal care, menstrual care, and reproductive care. According to a 2015 study from New York City Department of Consumer Affairs, women spend 13% more on personal care products than men. Why does personal care for women cost more? It might be the “pink tax," the discriminatory practice of products being priced higher when they are marketed to women. But there's ways to combat it, and while your employer’s benefits may not solve the issues of the pink tax, benefits like flexible spending accounts (FSAs) can support women’s health by helping to pay for necessary products on a pre-tax basis. Those with employee benefit programs like FSAs may be able to use it to cover cost for menstrual products, reproductive care, and more. Project 2025 is an extreme and dangerous agenda that threatens us all. The plan includes attempts to roll back civil rights protections and end the federal government's efforts to advance gender equity in five key ways: ➡️efforts to limit reproductive rights and penalize unmarried women ➡️attacks on protections against sex discrimination and other efforts to expand gender equity ➡️attacks on LGBTQI+ people ➡️gutting of diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts and other racial justice measures ➡️efforts to reduce access to and investments in anti-poverty programs by prioritizing the interests of the wealthy over the needs of low-income families, who are disproportionately led by women Dive into this important report from NWLC to further understand the risks Project 2025 poses for women, families, gender equity, and democracy: https://lnkd.in/eqpuYhNZ It's crucial that we stay informed and advocate for a more equitable future!

Did you know there’s more you can do to cerebrate women's agency and equity, than just sending forwarded messages today? In our homes, let's actively challenge gender norms—question traditional roles and expectations. At work, strive to establish systems that promote equity and support for all, irrespective of gender. It's important to assess the representation of women in leadership roles—are we fostering an environment where they can thrive? Reflect on societal dynamics: Are outdated wife jokes still prevalent? Do we find ourselves compelled to offer unsolicited opinions on women's choices? Is the initial focus on a woman's appearance rather than her accomplishments? Have we taken the time to educate ourselves on reproductive rights and body autonomy? Do we understand feminism? When confronted with a woman's grievance, are we able to resist the urge to deflect with a "What about men?" response? It's time to shift the burden of women's empowerment from women alone; such responsibility is not theirs to bear in isolation. Ask the right questions, actively contribute to change, and demand systemic change in societal structures. Remember, patriarchy hurts everyone. #internationalwomensday2024 #feminism #genderequality

Happy International Women's Day! Today, as we celebrate the amazing achievements of women across the globe, let’s pledge to continue pushing for fairness and equality. Here are some actionable ways to uplift women in our communities and beyond: Fight for Reproductive Rights: It's critically important that we stand behind women's right to access full reproductive healthcare. Let's support organizations advocating for these rights, to ensure that every woman can make her own decisions about her health and her body. Boost Women-Run Businesses: Let’s put our money where our mouth is! Shop at and support businesses run by women. Economic strength is vital. Elevate Women’s Voices: Let's actively elevate women's voices, ensuring they are heard in every arena from our staff meetings to our social media feeds. It’s important to do what we can to promote equal representation and actively oppose gender bias. Be a Mentor: Share your knowledge, experience, and wisdom by mentoring young women and girls. Your guidance and support can be invaluable as they pursue their dreams and manage the ups and downs of life. Learn and Advocate: Keep up with issues that are affecting ALL women and use that knowledge to push for positive changes. Educating ourselves is key to dismantling inequality. Cultivate Safe Spaces: Work towards creating places where everyone, no matter their gender, can feel secure, respected, and appreciated. Inclusivity lays the groundwork for a thriving community. Let's take action and commit to taking real steps toward a more supportive and fair world for ALL women.

Women in science/business/politics are emerging, FINALLY. I am 100% ready for women to take over every realm of humanity. We've tried dominance by old white males. Let's try a new tack, shall we? 👉 Feminism does NOT mean women over men it means equality. 👉 Equality means respect of rights. 👉 Rights MUST be universally applicable (the right of a fetus to live inside another human or a fertilized egg to persist in the freezer DOES NOT TRACK!) 👉 Laws removing reproductive rights are immoral). ✴ Let's push love and inclusion.
