Who Sits in Your Chair? In life, we all have a “chair”—a place in our heart that represents our purpose, security, and source of strength. Often, we don’t even realize who or what sits in that chair. Is it our career? Our relationships? Or perhaps, as is most common, is it ourselves? In a recent message, my pastor challenged us to reflect on this by drawing from Genesis 22:1-14, where God tested Abraham, not to take away but to reveal His ultimate provision. Abraham discovered that God wasn’t a taker but a giver—a provider, even in the most uncertain moments. We often look to external things—careers, relationships, achievements—for our source of security, but those are fleeting. What happens when they fail us? Who or what is truly sitting in your chair? Until we trust that God is our source, we can’t fully see the ways He provides for us. It’s a powerful reminder to rewire our thinking and let go of the need to control everything. Trust in the one who gave us everything and invites us to discover true liberation through faith. Men, What Is Righteousness? A righteous man leaves a legacy that benefits  his grandchildren. A true leader instills a pattern of success for those he guides. Consider what you are leaving behind. A good leader sets an example of success, character, diligence, and integrity for others to follow. What legacy are you creating for the next generation? Are you inviting God to transform your household? Your actions? Let Christ guide your actions. Allow God to order your steps. As Psalm 37:23 says, "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way." Trust God to direct your path. Ahh, there’s that word… trust. It also implies another challenging word: submission. Do you consider yourself a leader? Effective leaders are firmly rooted in their faith. They adhere to God's principles in every season of life. Wise leaders and kings bring stability by submitting to God's will. There’s a good word: wise. Remember, obedience and submission are choices. Together, they are the keys to having God’s infinite wisdom. Be wise - choose to lead with diligence, character, integrity, success, and stability. This leaves a legacy for your family, and others, to follow. How ya doin? Understand that, if you are still breathing you are not disadvantaged. Understand that, your dream is valid if you don't quit. Understand that, you are closer to your goals today than yesterday. Understand that, God's plans for you are good and glorious. Understand that, the devil's number one goal is to either get you busy with wrong things or get you to quit on the right thing. Understand that, you are not a second class citizen in God's operational plan. On Second Day of 2024, let us pause and reflect on Ecclesiastes 9:11 to prepare for appropriate response to uncertainty, unexpected events and circumstances. This is a word of wisdom from an ancient book from the bible that reads as follows: "I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all." This verse from the book of Ecclesiastes reflects on the unpredictable nature of life. It suggests that success or victory is not always guaranteed to those who possess physical strength, wisdom, intelligence, or knowledge. Instead, it emphasizes the role of chance and timing in determining outcomes. Despite our best efforts, unexpected events and circumstances can shape our lives. It encourages humility and acknowledges the element of uncertainty in human existence. Let us move forward with wisdom and courage to respond appropriately and with humility, reinforced with authentic leadership...
