Job Opportunity! We are hiring an Early Childhood Equity Fund Program Manager. Often times we ask, "What's the budget for that program?" And this is especially a question we want to answer when allocating resources to community-based organizations that serve communities in need. The Early Childhood Equity Fund (ECEF) focuses on closing opportunity gaps for children and families who face historical and current inequities due to factors such as race, income, zip code, or language. If you would like to read more about ECEF, check out our website: https://lnkd.in/gnZydBfi APPLY HERE: If you are a current state employee, go here: https://lnkd.in/g_cNUAjP If you are not a current state employee, go here: https://lnkd.in/gxd6vX_Z

It has been 4 months as Social Equity Director at Oregon Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC). Really excited to be part of this transformation from a division within the Oregon Department of Education to now, an agency that supports all children and helps Oregon families find and pay for high-quality early learning and care opportunities that are family centered and culturally-appropriate.

You know you’ve made it when asked to deliver a keynote speech. So proud Sarah Kutten, Ed.D., my bestie and sister! If you are not yet registered, register now because she is going to drop some knowledge that you do not want to miss. #highereducation #womenempowerwomen
12 days until #OWHE22! Register now to listen to one of our keynote speakers, Dr. Sarah Kutten. Sarah Kutten, Ed.D. (she/her) is the Assistant Vice Provost of Students and Belonging at the University of Oregon's Portland campus. She is fascinated by the transformation that takes place as students navigate post-secondary education experiences. Her research explores how racism informs the adult identity development of Black college students. As a leader, relationship-building and collaboration are key to her approach and she thrives in roles where she serves as a bridge between different units within organizations to advance initiatives and strategies that benefit everyone. In addition to her professional and scholar activities, she describes her most important role as being a mother to two young humans and two very spoiled cats.

Juliet Valdez joins the DAS Office of Cultural Change as the Affirmative Action Manager. Previously she served as a senior talent acquisition partner at Oregon Lottery. Prior to state government, she spent over a decade in graduate management education as a recruitment professional for universities, including Willamette University MBA, University of California Irvine and University of California San Diego. Juliet shares, “My career in education opened my eyes to inequities in the public and private education system. When students have the desire and dedication to go to school, we must carve out pathways for them to access resources to make it happen." Juliet's approach is centered on the candidate and employee experience through an equity lens. Throughout her robust career, her mission remains: “Our job has a direct connection to our livelihood. It allows us to live the life we want to live. As a recruiter my job was to create pathways for job-seekers to job opportunities, no matter where they were in life. As your colleague, my job is to create a work environment that welcomes you to show up as you are." Juliet earned a BA in Public Relations from California State University Fullerton and an MBA from Willamette University. She enjoys singing, playing her ukulele, hiking with her dog Stevie and playing social deduction games like One Night Werewolf, as well as other board games. #stateoforegon #affirmativeaction #comeforajob #stayforacareer #makeadifferenceforalifetime
