The widespread use of fertilizers and pesticides in agriculture has significantly boosted food production and economic growth. However, this practice has taken a toll on soil quality, leading to water and air pollution and heightened greenhouse gas emissions. Given that soil is projected to be the source of >90% of our food supply, it is imperative to prioritize regenerative agriculture to address soil degradation. Low crop yields are particularly detrimental to the environment and soil health, as they necessitate increased agricultural inputs, drive further deforestation to meet global food demands, and ultimately escalate soil quality degradation and greenhouse gas emissions.
