What is an elevator pitch? How do I create one? ✨An elevator pitch is a brief introduction and description of yourself and your top skills. You want it to be the length of an elevator ride (30-60 seconds), hence the name. Here, you can introduce yourself, your career goals and what you consider your most valuable skills. To create an elevator pitch, start by saying your name, your class standing or expected graduation date. After the introduction, highlight your job experience and skills you learned throughout those jobs that you deem most important. Be sure to share your values in the workplace and what you would bring to the table for the company. Drop-in to the Career Studio during 10 a.m.-5 p.m. to practice and get feedback! ✨ Want help preparing for the Career Fair? Drop-in to the Career Studio between 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday-Friday in NFH Rm. 103. ✅ RSVP and learn more about the career fairs in the Career Fair tab on Handshake. #thisisou #begolden #careerfair #career #lifedesign

#TBT Reminiscing about the time I ran a Supported Employment Program and decided to put on a Career Fair for clients. My motto has always been GO BIG OR GO HOME, so I pitched the idea to my CEO, and she supported it. After the hard work of myself and my team, we had over 25 employers participating. I opened the career fair up to all of San Antonio and promoted it through social media, radio, and news outlets. The event grew and I had 2 more Career Fairs helping hundreds of people. Making a difference in people's careers has always been a passion. You know what they say, "True to this, not new to this!" 😁 #ThrowbackThursday #Jobcoach #SupportedEmployment #careerdevelopment #JobSkills
