Founded in 2016 by Parmita Sarma and Mazin Mukhtar, this remarkable school not only tackles plastic pollution but also addresses the pressing issue of child labour. The school ingeniously accepts 25 plastic items as "fees," turning pollution into progress. Students pay their way with plastic waste that they collect from their neighbourhood. Parents, initially wanting their children to work in local quarries, now find a transformative alternative. Interestingly, the collected plastic transforms into road-laying material, creating a sustainable cycle. We applaud the initiative stride made by the school that sculpts a narrative where learning isn't confined to classrooms. My project, focused on the innovative "Extraction of valuable metals from spent Lithium-ion batteries using various waste materials, earned a spot among the Top 20 projects!" 😎 Securing 2nd Place! 😎 Even more thrilling is the fact that my project clinched the 2nd rank in this state-level GPCB hackathon, outshining competitors from across the state. 🌟 Driving Sustainability and Innovation 🌟 Participating in this hackathon not only provided a platform to showcase my skills but also fueled my passion for sustainability and innovation. A comprehensive strategy is essential for the transformative journey of education towards #ViksitBharat @2047, with a focus on academic excellence alongside moral and ethical education. At Mahindra Susten, our Gyandeep program is aligned with this government mission, contributing to the nation's progress toward becoming a developed country. As a business, we are building #renewableenergy projects and supporting the nation's green energy goals. However, many of these projects are in rural areas where communities often lack basic necessities such as healthcare, infrastructure, and education. To address challenges realted to education, we have designed our #Gyandeep programs to promote the overall development of the education infrastructure where we operate. One of our key focus areas under the "Gyandeep" is enhancing the basic education infrastructure around our renewable energy sites. By improving the facilities of government schools near our project locations, we aim to nurture students to become positive change-makers in their communities. We are pleased to share recent initiative to improving the education infrastructure near our 250 MW Rewa Ultra Solar Park project in Badwar Village, MP. Through this Gyandeep Program, we have impacted approximately 9 schools, touching over 2,100 students across our portfolio. Chilling Cold Showers? Not anymore at an Ashram School in Palghar Economic uncertainty can possess the darkest days in life, same as what when affordability is at stake. When a residential school runs, many factors need to be considered in addition to manage food, clothing & shelter but also electrical supply in today's digital age. 9000 LPD Solar Water Heater with solar water pump and 6Kwp Solar Off-grid system were installed in the School through corporate CSR initiative. Solar Electrification in Girls Ashram School at Palghar has resolved the long due issue of chilling cold water showers as well as interrupted electricity supply for around 200+ BPL girls who reside for educational upbringing in the village. This sustainable project was implemented by Green India Initiative Pvt.
