My hike yesterday - Exercising With A Group This photograph was taken yesterday, on a group hike, to Rawson Lake, in Kananaskis Country, Alberta, Canada. It was an awesome hike! We ate lunch on the frozen lake, and, watched avalanches – it sounded like loud thunder. So, what are the benefits of joining a club, whether it running, hiking, walking, or competing in sports? 1. Motivation and Accountability: Working-out with others can boost your motivation. The group dynamic creates a sense of accountability, making it more likely that you'll show-up on the day, and try your best. 2. Social Interaction: Group exercise provides an opportunity to socialize and connect with others who share similar fitness goals. This social interaction can enhance your overall well-being and make exercise more enjoyable. 3. Structured: Group exercise classes inside, typically follow a structured format led by a knowledgeable instructor; meaning you’ll receive a well-rounded workout. If it’s a team activity, you’ll also learn techniques, and receive guidance. 4. Variety: Joining a club, offer’s a variety of workout’s. 5. 3 Simple Rules To Stay On Track While On Vacation this Summer! ⬇️ How many times have you been trying to focus on your fitness journey, and by the time you’re back… You feel like all that hard work has gone to waste after re-gaining that 5-10 lbs you FOUGHT so hard to lose? I hear you, and I want to give you 3 simple tips that’ll keep you on track! 1️⃣ Implement a Modified Routine, NOT Completely Leaving It Home! All or nothing. “I’m on vacation, so I’m not going to give a crap about my workouts, my nutrition, or any of my habits I’m trying to build.” This is why you likely gained 5-10 lbs over the holiday! Part of the experience is to enjoy less “WORK” but that does not mean you should hit the “F*CK IT” button. You don’t need to train every day, but for example, if you’re currently training 4-5x per week, try to at least do 3x/week. If there’s no gym, do quick and simple bodyweight workouts to maintain your progress and maintain your habits! You can still drink your water, get your steps in, don’t completely leave your fitness routine behind, instead MODIFY IT! 2️⃣ Look for ACTIVITIES to enjoy the environment and explore! One of my favourite things to do is look for things to do that are physically active. At a resort? Go paddle boarding, play beach volleyball, go swimming, long walk on the beach, book an excursion, there’s so many ways to stay active! Exploring Europe? Can you rent a bike or walk to get around instead or what are some fun activities around your hotel, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking? You kill 2 birds with one stone, enjoy your travels and while getting your physical activity in! 3️⃣ Set Guidelines with your EATING / DRINKING! Moderation is the key here. “I will only drink after dinner.” (Not all day long) “I’ll limit myself to 2 drinks per night.” “I’ll only have dessert at dinner (instead of snacking on sweets all day long.” “I will prioritize protein and veggies at every meal.” If this helped, please save it for later and share with your travel buddy!
