Great inspiration for engaging learners in creative exploration at school! Shadow art provides a dynamic way to explore the concept of metaphors—bridging tangible experiences with abstract thinking. “The underlying requirement for being able to create a metaphor is to recognize similarity, and to conceive of one object or event as if it were another…. The perception of similarity is present at birth and is necessary for the most basic of learnings.” (A Festive Thought, p. 207) By inviting learners to play with light, shadow, and form, we open opportunities for them to perceive connections, express unique interpretations, and deepen their cognitive and artistic growth. It’s a wonderful reminder that even in the simplest of activities, powerful metaphors can emerge, helping us better understand the world around us.

ART SG 2025: Iranian Artists Among This Year’s Participants The third edition of ART SG is being held from January 17–19, 2025, in Singapore, featuring 105 galleries across three sections: Focus, Futures, and Galleries. This year’s event includes works by Iranian artists Timo Nasseri, represented by Sabrina Amrani Gallery (Madrid), and Sanam Khatibi, represented by PPOW Gallery (New York). 📊 Market Overview: ART SG 2025 is a smaller-scale event compared to previous editions, with 105 galleries participating, down from 116 in 2024 and 150 in 2023. Galleries have reported successful sales across a wide range of price points, from mid-range works ($20,000–$180,000) to high-value pieces such as a Picasso that sold for $1.2 million.
