🗣 Become a UX Leader End of 2011, my proposed idea to start the UX team within the company was given the go-ahead. Of course, there were budget restrictions and it was suggested that I should hire a fresher or someone who is on the bench. Create a training plan and train that person, evangelize UX in the company. Run the team as a startup, go and talk to other teams, pitch, and get the project, etc. Spread the awareness, and build the culture. It was so interesting, and I have enjoyed every day of that process. Along with this, I started speaking at different design conferences. In 2015, I spoke at the Unicom UX UI Conference in Bangalore. The topic was 🌟 "Become a UX Leader". I have used all my team-building, leading, and managing experience at that time along with my thoughts about the UX Design industry and being a UX designer. I keep seeing some employers making some job requirements for product mangers, highlighting that they must have expert UX skills and a host of others, so let me clarify… 📍Product Managers are not UX designers ( Their roles may work hand in hand but they are ultimately different) Product managers and UX designers have different roles when it comes to creating a product. Product managers focus on the overall strategy, market research, and business goals. They're like the masterminds behind the scenes, making sure everything runs smoothly On the other hand, UX designers specialize in creating user-centered experiences and interfaces. They're the ones who make sure the product is easy to use, visually appealing, and meets the needs of the users. So, while they both contribute to the creation of a great product, their responsibilities and areas of expertise are different. They work together as a team to bring the best product to life! Note: 🗒️⬇️ It's not uncommon for product managers to have UX design skills, especially in smaller teams or startups where roles can overlap.
