Last month when Big Shed Brewing announced they had been placed into voluntary administration, the South Australian community rallied behind them. The outpouring of support and generosity from the public, industry, partners and other local businesses was invaluable, and Big Shed are now out of administration, and plan to pour beers for years to come. We’ve seen how important it is to get behind local businesses, and as a state - we are really good at it! However, the support for not only Big Shed but all SA breweries can't stop there. There are currently over 80 independent breweries in operation across the state, many of which are small family run businesses that employ locally and are more than just a brewery, they are part of their community. We know how much South Australians love to support local brands and businesses, so let’s continue to Buy SA. For SA. and together, we can ensure the continued success of this vibrant industry. See SA's 80+ independent breweries and what you can do to help below. #BuySAForSA #SAindependentbeerindustry #buyandsupportlocal #sabusiness #craftbeer

🍺 Beer Emergency in Bengaluru: Will the Breweries Survive? 🚨 With over 70 breweries, Bengaluru holds the esteemed title of India’s beer capital. However, recent trends suggest a looming crisis. Rising temperatures, soaring demand, unexpected factors like #election seasons and #IPL fervor are pushing beer sales to unprecedented levels. Sales have surged by over 60% compared to last year, leaving breweries struggling to restock and meet demands. Subpar fruit production further complicates matters, redirecting preferences towards regular beers. Can Bengaluru’s breweries weather this storm and keep up with the city’s insatiable thirst for beer? Only time will tell. #BengaluruBeerCrisis #CraftBeer #BeerCapital 🌞🍻

This is a really big deal. The CALIFORNIA CRAFT BREWERS ASSOCIATION just landed a big win for breweries here. Earlier today Governor Newsom signed CCBA sponsored bill AB 2174 (Aguiar-Curry) into law, allowing beer manufacturers to sell their beer at both public and private events through the use of a Beer Caterer’s Permit. Having been thinking a lot about access to market recently, this is the kind of legislation that can really make the difference for small and independent breweries and the CCBA and staff killed it with this one. Starting January 1, 2025, beer manufacturers holding a type 01 or 23 license will be able to apply for a Beer Caterer’s Permit to sell their beer for consumption at events held off their licensed premises, including street fairs, community gatherings, private parties, and civic events held anywhere in the state which have been approved by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC). This permit allows the brewery to sell up to 124 gallons of beer at each event for a maximum of 36 events per calendar year. #craftbeer

The Indian Craft Beer industry is estimated at INR 1000 crores in size, based on a study conducted by Tulleeho in 2022. This is expected to climb to between INR 3500-5000 crore by 2027, a number that's hard to ignore anymore. It's been driven across the country by a unique set of entrepreneurs who are rooted in beer, often with a background in home brewing and focused on giving a great experience to guests. Read my article in LiveMint for more insight on this sector that's in ferment. #craftbeer #beer #makeindia #livemint
