Loud, chaotic, confusing, and stressful are some of the feelings I have when walking on my own as a blind person into an exhibit hall at a conference. I carefully walk forward, trying not to bump into people or booths too hard. I listen to the voices I can hear through the noise to try and find a booth, any booth. Sometimes my cane hits the edge of a booth, and sometimes I just walk until my cane hits a table. I then shout, “Hey, what booth is this?” hoping someone is there. If someone is there, we talk for a while, and when I’m ready to go, I’ll ask what booths are to the right and left. I then repeat the process until I reach the end or edge of the section I’m in. Often, there’s a demo that I really want to try, and if I ask for directions to that booth, I usually get an answer that assumes I know how the space is laid out. There have been many times when I haven’t managed to visit the booths I want because I got lost following the directions. Simple without cables and simply amazing At #ISE24 we presented our new version of the #supraGuideSPHERIC. The system was one of the visitor highlights because its handling is so super simple and the experience is so incredibly great. The supraGuide SPHERIC is a wireless all-in-one audio guide. All content is triggered automatically via triggerPoints. This makes handling particularly easy and intuitive for visitors, as they only have to approach the exhibit or enter a defined zone and the tracks start automatically. But that's not all, because we have equipped the SPHERIC with a 3D sound module. This makes it possible to fix the direction of #ambisonic recordings. The result is that the visitor can move around in a defined acoustic environment. There are virtually no limits to the imagination of #sounddesigners.
