In a skills-short market like construction, you can't afford to alienate candidates with lengthy interview processes. Here’s a riddle for you… What moves faster than the construction industry? Literally nothing. This sector is known for its quick turnaround time and everything happening in a time crunch, including hiring. When you need new employees, you need them yesterday. We have had a number of clients on Data Centre / Critical projects where they've needed Construction Managers turned around within 24 hours which on a permanent basis is fast!! We have seen a rise in clients providing limited job briefs to our Consultants. Imagine telling a doctor only half of the issues and expecting them to get your diagnosis right and then blaming them when it doesn't work out! In order for a Recruitment business to do a thorough job, they need details - this isn't always a full HR Job Spec but it does need to be thorough enough to allow them to narrow the search and know the audience they are going after.
