Like you, we were looking forward to gathering with our national community of folks committed to justice and joy with and for girls, young women, and gender-expansive youth of color. Unfortunately, just one month out from the In Solidarity We Rise: Joyful Radical Abundance 2023 Summit we were notified of the withdrawal of a major sponsor. This puts us at a critical and unexpected crossroad in terms of covering the cost of the Summit. Because of this, we are rescheduling the In Solidarity We Rise Summit from November 2023 to Spring 2024. This was a very difficult decision to make because of the high-level of excitement about attending the Summit that continues to build across the country. We apologize in advance for any difficulty this creates and are working to quickly identify new dates which we hope to announce in the next few weeks. To be clear we are not canceling the Summit. Existing registrations and workshop selections will be carried over to the new dates and registration will remain open. We know there are a lot of details to work through so check out our FAQ's here: https://lnkd.in/gNasN9wE. In the coming days we will continue to share exciting details, such as program content, and more. This is disappointing, but it is a temporary setback and we know that together we are stronger than the forces that try to hold us back. Time and again, girls, young women, and gender-expansive youth of color have bounced back from hindrances such as this one. We will lean into their example, and together we will ensure that In Solidarity 2024 will again be the safe, healing, powerful and one-of-a-kind space it was in 2017 and 2019. We look forward to seeing you this coming spring! #ISWR2024 #JusticeandJoy #Activism #Organizing #Empowered #Healing #SFEvents #IntergenerationalHealing #Equity #Justice #Galvanize #YouthLead #PolicyandSystemsChange #NonProfit #joyfulradicalabundance #womensequality

Rapid Response Funds for youth by youth...apply now! #Democracy #CivicEngagement #GenZ #GenderJustice #GenderEquity #RacialJustice #RacialEquity #Vote

The Justice + Joy National Collaborative Rapid Response Fund (RRF) is open. This fund was created to support young people in leading and organizing in their communities. This funding is for youth by youth and we will determine when rapid response funds are needed based on current events across the country and in specific communities. With election day just weeks away, we still have not seen substantial investment in one key, influential voting block—Gen Z cis and trans girls, young women, and gender-expansive young people of color. In response, the RRF leadership team of young people led by Addison Moore (DC), Genesis Holland (VA), Hely Dodia (NJ) and Kristen Nicole (OR) are launching the RRF as Phase Two of the Fixing Democracy Initiative at Justice and Joy by providing young people with resources to mobilize Gen Z voters and others and to think about what role they can play in leading long-term change. Micro grants of $50 – $500 will be provided to cis and trans girls, young women, and gender expansive young people of color across the nation to organize and host gatherings with their friends and loved ones in their communities, social groups, and families through in real life (IRL) and digital activations across the country. All gatherings will center a call to action to vote the weeks and days leading up to the election. Check out the link in the comments to apply!!! https://lnkd.in/gXuy8h-Q

With election day just weeks away, we still have not seen substantial investment in one key, influential voting block—Gen Z cis and trans girls, young women, and gender-expansive young people of color. In response, we’ve launched the Rapid Response Fund as phase two of the Fixing Democracy Initiative, getting funds and resources to young people from young people to mobilize Gen Z voters and others. Our goal is to mobilize in our real life communities by bringing people together and encouraging folks to vote in 2024 and beyond, and to think about what role we can play over the long term to ensure our freedom, justice, and safety.
