Day 2 of #AGBT24 is coming to a close and I'm back with another fun technology update from Illumina! It's the latest addition to the family of NovaSeq X flow cells. First was the 10B, supporting the sequencing of ~24 human genomes (and 48 per run). Also, tons of exomes, transcriptomes, single-cells, and so on. Next up was the beast! The 25B. 64 genomes per flow cell, 128 per run. And with >52B paired-end reads, absolutely insane projects. But now say hello to the 1.5B. Small, yet mighty! A quick and affordable flow cell, supporting the sequencing of ~4 human genomes, and small batches of exomes, transcriptomes, and whatever else is on your genomics menu. All the 1.5B run types can be completed in less than 24 hours. The full NovaSeq X family of flow cells has arrived.
