"The sales team think I'm a techie but the IT team think I'm in sales" I have this conversation (or a variation on it) a lot. We work with people who, in the Venn diagram of life, sit in the overlap between the business and technology. Who use technical skills to solve business problems. Who have commercial chops but deliver value with technology. CDOs. Architects. Business Partners. Programme Managers. Heads of Product. And lots more. Because our business is about helping our customers solve their business problems with technical solutions. And we do that by finding them the people who have skills on both sides. It’s something I’m trying to differently in my company Justin! The importance of understanding our customers’ business problems across the business is what helps us deliver the best service. This works best when everyone is aligned.
