What happens when a chicken restaurant runs out of chicken? 😅 *Enter brand team* An attention-grabbing visual. Humour. A no fluff, human apology. Run it as full page ads in the daily newspaper. Watch it go viral online. One of my faves. Because I think humour paired with a down-to-earth apology is the BEST way to win back an angry audience. Well done KFC 👏 What do you think of this ad? #creativity #advertising #branding
Still one of my favourite ads!!! They did so well in owning their mistake and in return generated a lot of conversations online and their apology was accepted. I love humour in marketing and KFC are a fab example of this!
KFC nailed it with that ad! 😂 Brands that can laugh at themselves and connect with their audience on a personal level often win over even the most critical customers. It's a win-win for both sides! 👏
Love this and I remember it well, a sign of excellent marketing 👏
KFC nailed this! When you don't try to skip corners and openly admit when you are wrong your customers will understand and respect you more. Mistakes happen but don't try to sugarcoat it. KFC well done!
KFC nailed this ad, some ads will never get old! 👏🏻🤣
Whoever made this deserves a raise haha Way to stop the scroll and get the readers to look twice. Probably MADE a few customers from this ad.
This literally just made me chuckle! I remember this so clearly and I think as far as brand apologies go this is the best one as it felt like an individual wrote it and not a team. As you said, it felt human and that's why it was received so well.
I use this as an example if a Pattern Interrupt, using Neuro-Linguistic Programming in marketing. Do something that interrupts your regular programming to get people's attention and boost your algorithm.

1yHopefully they’re in the process of crafting their apology to the chickens too. 🐓 (* I’m sorry - usually I am totally the sort of person to scroll past a post that irks me. But as a non-chicken eater on a platform that doesn’t seem to welcome chickens having accounts, feel like I need to speak up for our feathered friends).
