The cheapest solution for urban transportation is Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). Light Rail Transit (LRT) is the most expensive option, and while it's a popular choice connecting Johor Bharu and Singapore, especially with the upcoming completion of the Rapid Transit System (RTS) in 2027, it might not be the most cost-effective solution for all cities.
However, Automated Rapid Transit (ART) is an option worth considering. Cities like Putrajaya, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Bharu, Ipoh, and Seremban could benefit from implementing a loop system similar to Melbourne's successful tram network. This would provide a cost-effective and efficient way to get around these cities.

IOI PROPERTIES PLANS MORE INDUSTRIAL PARKS
IOI Properties Group Bhd is going to launch its IOI Industrial Park at Banting, Selangor by the second quarter of next year and is planning another one in Melaka that is expected to be launched two quarters later. This means the group will have three industrial parks by the end of 2025, as it has an existing industrial park in Iskandar Malaysia, Johor.
The emergence of well-managed and well-planned industrial parks with emphasis on environmental, social and governance (ESG) attributes and 5G technology adoption will certainly support the Government’s efforts to attract high-value investments including establishment of smart factories in-line with the New Industrial Master Plan 2030.

At the recent 'Heralding A New Growth Era for Johor' event hosted by Malaysian Industrial Development Finance MIDF, Johor Corporation (JCorp) outlined the key initiatives shaping Johor's economic landscape.
JCorp, as Johor's principal development institution, is pursuing a variety of initiatives and projects that align with national and state development plans, such as the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP 2030), the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), and the Maju Johor (MJ30). These initiatives aim to promote economic growth, regional integration, sustainability, and the success of our region.
Our efforts are centred towards creating a thriving economic ecosystem in which Johor's growth complements Singapore's dynamism. The development of the JS-SEZ, combined with key transportation upgrades such as the RTS and LRT, is expected to catalyse this synergy, increasing Johor property demand and land value.
