Mistral introduced new model customisation SDK with a paid plan. Plus, Google is rolling out its AI-powered note-taking assistant outside US and researchers identified over 1M new antibiotics by leveraging AI. Here's everything going on in AI right now: 1. Mistral's Mistral-Finetune SDK allows self-service fine-tuning on multi-GPU setups or single GPUs. The company has also launched fine-tuning services via API for two of its models - Mistral Small and Mistral 7B. 2. After a 6 month US-only trial, Google is now rolling out NotebookLM, its AI-powered note-taking assistant, to over 200 new countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, and the UK. Powered by Gemini 1.5 Pro, NotebookLM now supports 108 interface languages and sources in 38 languages. The update adds support for Google Slides and web URLs and features inline citations, a Notebook Guide, and improved privacy for user data. 3. Over 1M new antibiotics, hidden within tiny microbes all over the world, were uncovered by researchers by analysing over 100,000 genomes and meta-genomes using AI. In lab tests, 79 out of 100 AI-predicted candidates showed antibiotic potential. This opens up new potential treatments against bacteria and superbugs. Author Cesar de la Fuente called it “the largest antibiotic discovery ever,” speeding up the process from years to hours. That’s it for today’s AI updates.
