POWER QUALITY equipment design is a major determinant between Good & Bad power quality. =》Good power quality: - Good power quality means that the power supply is sufficient for the equipment / process to operate satisfactorily. =》Poor power quality: - poor power quality generally mean there is sufficient deviation in the power supply to cause equipment / process mis-operation or failure. #powerquality #goodpowerquality #poorpowerquality

Which is the most reliable steam turbine production system, a mechanical trip system or an electrical trip system? The reliability of either system depends on factors such as the quality of components, regular maintenance, and proper installation and operation. In many cases, a combination of both mechanical and electrical trip systems may be employed to provide redundancy and enhance overall reliability.

Interesting buchholz relay operation. Comment by Ralph Barone seems to have summarized all the possible reasons of buchholz relay mal-operation. Can’t think of any other possibilities. Personally, in our system, till now I have not faced such an incident. Have you? #relay #protection #powersystem #transformers
And a new challenging subject! In a 63/20kv substation including two parallel transformer, a single phase earth fault on one of the T2 outgoing feeders, caused T1 to disconnect via its own Grounding transformer Buchholz relay operation. No gas was accumulated and the repair & maintenance group didn't detect any gas and the mechanical relay was healthy. The faulty 20kv feeder and disconnected transformer are shown in the single line diagram below. How do you deal with this problem? Can it be due to mechanical tension and force? I'm really curious about your experience and analysis..... It's interesting that we had the same event at another substation too.

A magnetic contactor is an electrical device used for remotely making and breaking power circuits. It consists of a coil that, when energized, produces a magnetic field that attracts a moving iron armature. This movement causes the contacts to close, allowing current to flow through the circuit. Magnetic contactors are commonly used in industrial applications to control the operation of motors, lighting, heating, and other electrical equipment. They provide a reliable and safe method of controlling high-power electrical circuits and are essential components in a wide range of electrical systems.
