You are the some of the 5 people you spend the most time with. It's better to be brave and spend time with people who you aspire to be like that don't respect you instead of spend time with people who you feel comfortable with, but don't have similar aspirations to you or don't respect your aspirations.

📢 Trainer and Mentor. I help women in their 40s silence the constant food noise, break free from the lies of the diet industry, reconnect with their bodies and lose weight without diets.
"𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚"… 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩?? 🤔
Think about it:
Is it about YOUR well-being?
Or is it about keeping their world safe and unchanged?
When you decide to take charge of your body,
it shakes their comfort zone.
Because it reminds them of something they’ve avoided:
👉 They decided to stay stuck.
I work with women
who spent most of their lives
thinking and being told their body is a "problem."
Eventually,
they stopped trying to change
and started fighting for acceptance
—not for themselves, but for their whole group.
🔸 They surrounded themselves with people who share the same struggles.
🔸 They pushed back against “fatphobia” and weight loss.
🔸 They claim that loving their body means never changing.
But is that really self-love?
The hard truth is that they’ve become comfortable in their discomfort
AND
they see your growth as a threat.
Not because it’s wrong,
but because it forces them

You don’t owe anyone an explanation for
✔️ Wanting to feel better in your body.
✔️ Striving to improve your health.
✔️ Choosing change over staying stuck.
People will project their fears onto you.
But their limits don’t define yours.

I loved this quote because it can be viewed from so many different angles; but my take is from 2 points of focus...
(1) financial and economical stability:
Where; someone does not appreciate or give value to ‘your why or purpose’ for making certain financial decisions, changes or investments toward your personal goals and/or drive to succeed and sustain, beyond "just" having “monetary” gain(?). Best believe you will swiftly be talking yourself into the ground, by trying to help them see you for you, let alone having them capture your vision and aspirations, for self!
Truth is, they will never be able to truly advise nor encourage you and, it’s worse if they are the kind of person who acts as if they want you to win whilst subliminally doing things or making conscious remarks with aims to discourage you. Those kinds of people are the type, who acts as if they want you to succeed, but then makes things difficult (or a barrier) for you when you do; so that your success never has the ability to surpasses theirs (i.e. disingenuous or fake supporters). This is definitely not my kind of human!
I believe, if someone truly wants you to win, they couldn’t care less; at what point of the journey you’re on, what it may look like for you or how long it's taking you to reach your goal; they will cheer you on and stand with you (through peak & trough), full stop!
- (2) Core VOICE (Values Opinions Inclusion Choices and Equity) – the essence that makes you, YOU
Equally, if you cannot show up in a space (think family home, work, external community etc.) as your full unfiltered, complex, cloaked in difference, human self(?); then you may as well prepare to begin the journey towards mental health recovery (now), because that is just where this route leads, next!
Being the kind of human who puts limitations on or depreciates others until they become lesser than themselves, for any reason, is the poorest form of humanity, there is (my view). I never want to be that person, intentionally or unintentionally!
Fact is, we are who we are and our needs and desire are valid and purposeful towards life, because they are OURS! If they look different from others or if they carve out a different existence from those who came before us or (even) those who will be here after us... So be it!
Be encouraged, and know you can and will be the best you, you can muster to BE #period and whatever gain (financial, mental, physical, spiritual or otherwise) comes from that is simply a testament of your **already** greatness! Trust your self and trust your vision and keep showing up for you! Just LIVE!!
The END!

Spending energy explaining yourself to those who don't share your vision or ambitions may be exhausting. It's generally more productive to focus on what corresponds with your goals and ideals rather than seeking approval from others who aren't on the same page. Staying loyal to your mission might help you make faster progress.
