Triggers… Stored procedures… Functions… and more. Some systems rely heavily on proprietary functionality in the database. If speed is essential for your system then Stored procedures could be of great help. Perhaps you can gather statistics and other things with triggers and Stored procedures. If you don’t have special needs to use proprietary you should stick with your business layer and put your code there.
