There are many variables when it comes to defensive firearm use. The absolute main purpose is self protection. Anything else is a secondary or tertiary. Including your immediate family. Carrying a concealed weapon is for immediate use for self defense. No one else is in the equation. With that variable alone, we must come to understand how to 1) use our firearm effectively, 2) utilize the holster we are concealing with, 3) draw from the holster, 4) understand the environment and our surroundings. Agree or disagree?

The Best Home Defense "Tools" To Protect Your Home. In a home defense scenario, not everyone has access to firearms—or may prefer not to use them. Fortunately, there are many highly effective non-gun options that can provide safety and security. 1. Maglite Flashlight Why It’s Effective: Dual-purpose as a flashlight and a blunt weapon. Heavy-duty construction allows for powerful strikes. Long enough to maintain a safe distance from an attacker. Bonus Tip: Keep it by your bedside or near entryways for quick access. 2. Cold Steel Special Forces Shovel Why It’s Effective: Compact, durable, and sharp edges make it versatile. Can be used as a striking, cutting, or stabbing weapon. Doubles as a practical survival tool. 3. Katana (or Any Sword) Why It’s Effective: Long reach and razor-sharp blade provide excellent offensive capabilities. Effective in cutting or slashing attacks. Intimidating presence alone can deter intruders. 4. Baseball Bat Why It’s Effective: Readily available and easy to swing. Strong, dense material delivers significant impact force. Lightweight enough for quick and powerful strikes. 5. Hammer Why It’s Effective: Compact and easy to handle, especially in tight spaces. Can be used for both striking and stabbing (claw end). 6. Tomahawk or Hatchet Why It’s Effective: Compact, versatile, and easy to maneuver. Sharp blade for cutting and blunt backside for smashing. Can double as a survival tool. 7. Bear Spray Why It’s Effective: Extremely effective at neutralizing threats without causing lasting harm. Large spray radius and range (up to 30 feet). Legal and widely available in many areas. #emergencypreparedness #selfdefence #selfdefense #safety

Transubstantiation isn’t just for Catholics. It can also occur when 2 or more non-defense articles, combine to undergo a bureaucratic transubstantiation into defense articles controlled under ITAR. Here we have a 5.56 FMJ round with loose M27 links for the FN America, LLC M249 SAW and the same ammunition linked together. As the ammunition is standard FMJ without a steel penetrator like M855/M855A1, since March of 2020, it is no longer on the the United States Munitions List (USML), which means it is not intrinsically regulated under ITAR. However, that doesn't mean it can't be a defense article under ITAR. Category III of the USML lists “Ammunition preassembled into links or belts” and “Cartridge links and belts for fully automatic firearms and guns controlled in USML Categories I or II”. While “preassembled” linked ammo is explicitly controlled under #ITAR, the links are only controlled if they’re for “fully automatic firearms”. Therefore loose links for semi-automatic belt-fed #Guns, aren’t controlled under ITAR. Yet, if the links are for use in a machine-gun, they are controlled under ITAR. Owning a semi-auto belt-fed seems to be like putting a lawn mower engine in a Porsche, but that's just me. I would advise extreme caution to anyone exporting loose links under the more permissive Bureau of Industry and Security-U.S. Department of Commerce standards, to do their due diligence on the end user. If the end-user is #Government, #Military or #LawEnforcement, it's kinda hard to imagine they're using them for semi-auto belt-feds vs a private end-user with no access to machine-guns. As always, I’m not a #Lawyer & none of this is #LegalAdvice. But Ordnance & Energetics Consulting LLC can leverage years of practical experience in #Government #Compliance, to assist #StartUps, #VentureCapital & others to navigate ATF & DDTC regulations related to dealing, #Manufacturing, #Importing, or #Exporting; #Ordnance, #Explosives & #Firearms.

What are Self Defense Flashlights? Self defense flashlights are tactical gear used for personal protection. A tactical gear flashlight typically has a high light output of atleast 500 lumens and is made of strong metals. These tactical lights have a disorienting strobe light or turbo mode that can be accessed through the tail switch. Tactical flashlights are also effective striking weapons since the ones specifically made for self defense are constructed from strong metals and have a strike bezel on the head of the flashlight. Why Do You Need Them? With increasing crime rates a self defense tool is a must-have to protect yourself and your loved ones. But with guns and other weapons, who needs a flashlight? A flashlight IS a surprising personal protection tool, isn’t it? However, you must remember that guns are not accepted for personal defense in most countries, and even in countries such as the United States, you need to undergo training and get a gun license. Besides, the problem with most weapons is they are not safe around children. With a flashlight, you do not have to worry about your children getting injured. Even if they use a self-defense flashlight, the worst that could happen is disorientation and eye discomfort if they shine the light on themselves and others. But how many lumens does a flashlight need to be considered for self defense?…Lets find out! What is the Maximum Light Output a Self Defense Flashlight Should Have? For a tactical flashlight to be considered for self defense, it must have a brightness level above 1000 lumens. The brighter, the better. Additionally, the flashlight should come with at least three modes, one turbo/ strobe mode. Although the runtime of turbo mode is less, the sudden outburst of bright light is enough to blind your assailant, giving you time to escape temporarily. Even though 300 lumens is enough to cause distress to the eyes, the effects only last for a few minutes. A flashlight with more than 500 lumens is required to make the target’s flash blindness last longer.
