As a Relationship Manager at Workplace Pride, Robert Corvers takes great pride in the work he does for our members and his community. Recently, Robert had the privilege to share his personal story and expertise on LGBTIQ+ inclusion in the workplace during a panel discussion at Squire Patton Boggs. 📽 You can view the video below. This opportunity was not just important; it was necessary. Globally, we are witnessing the resurgence of anti-gay laws in countries like Ghana, Russia, and even the US. Unfortunately, this often translates into increased discrimination and microaggressions against the LGBTIQ+ community. It is crucial for employers to not only acknowledge this issue but also take action. Prioritising inclusion aligns seamlessly with business objectives. We are working on some great new shows at Rivet360. What makes a podcast great? There are a lot of factors, including: 1) Passion. When there’s passion about the stories being told, then people put the extra time in to make sure everyone is getting the story right. 2) Planning. Like all other projects, setting up a show for success takes work. The planning part isn’t sexy, but it’s foundational. Really thinking through tone, audience, cadence, format, guests and music up front free you up to focus on the story arc of each episode later on. 3) Positioning. If you build it, they won’t come. You need to put the show in front of the listeners it’s intended for. Make it easy for them. Connor Whitley has been a dream client. He loves the subject matter of the show and is excited about all the voices we’re platforming. I think he actually does find the planning sexy! And he’s partnering with his marketing team to leverage all of Senior Planet’s comms channels.

As we celebrate Pride, let’s remember that it’s not just about rainbow-branded imagery or trendy hashtags. It’s about education, awareness, and genuine support for the LGBTQIA+ community. Here are some ways we can make a meaningful impact: Educate: Learn and share the meaning behind Pride Month and its history. Purpose: Ask yourself why you’re supporting Pride. Are we adding value to the conversation? Is your company truly an ally? Year-Round Support: Pride isn’t limited to June. Let’s support LGBTQ+ initiatives throughout the year.
